    End of the D2D Road:

This morning, I completed the last ten DVD titles waiting to be converted via the D2D program from my physical media library.

I was very slow in this process.

I only paid cash and only added titles into HDX. Only twice did I have to compromise this and convert into SD.

I was expecting this to take me until Q4, but I was able to finish early.

I am now like the rest of the people who fall into this category and have to take up sniper positions waiting for new titles to become available.

It is a weird feeling not having any more titles waiting for money to be converted. I have been on this road for about a year and it is kinda like both a celebration and a loss with it now being over.

I do have a large 10+ title EST purchase schedule for next week. I am looking forward to that and have already picked the titles I am going to get, but there is just none left in the D2D queue for me anymore.

Same here. Not much else I can add as far as old movies because many of them are not available for D2D (like Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Spy Kids, Bond films, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Disney titles, and MGM titles just to name a few).

Looks like I will have to find something else to fill my time instead of lurking around this forum and typing in movie titles on the D2D list to see if any of my wishlist pops up. Instead, I will probably check about every two weeks to see if any of these old releases have been made available for both UV and D2D.

Most additions from here on out will be Blu-rays that I buy with a UV redemption code (sorry Disney, if no UV code then I will not be buying your movies (well, "maybe" if you allow me to stream on Vudu)).

Re: End of the D2D Road:

My "available" list has dwindled down to 29 titles that either aren't recognized, come up as wrong title, or only available in SD. I'm not willing to settle for SD. I check them once a week but nothing seems to ever change on that front. 6 of those I could do in store, but I'd rather wait. If the promo period passes and they still don't work, I still have a handful of unexpired $2 coupons.

My "not available" list is showing 111 titles (not including TV shows), either because the studio doesn't participate, are not UV enabled, or isn't or D2D enabled (despite being UV).

I'm in the same boat. Iv'e got almost all of the ones I want that are UV ready. My UV wishlist is now 42 titles.

        15 are MGM!

Then there's about 4 or 5 from Warner, Universal, and Fox. The rest are from Lionsgate and smaller studio's that aren't on board with UV.

...I should mention, there is one movie I refused to spend money on for the principle of it.

Jim Carey is a relatively good actor, but "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" has to be the worst film ever made.

That one is going to be resigned to history by me and pruned from the family collection as we embark into the digital age.

          Good riddance. Blagh!

Most of what I have left is MGM, but there are a few others I am waiting on. A lot of the old Van Damme movies are not UV or D2D as part of the Lionsgate library. Back to the Future is a big one for me, as I'm sure it is for a lot of others. The rest of the titles are random, like X2, Collateral, Good Will Hunting, etc.

I think we'll have to wait for someone to purchase MGM's catalog titles after their bankruptcy before any of those become D2D or UV any time soon. The rest, I can't be sure what the hold up is. For now I'll just enjoy the titles I have been able to convert, upgrade and back-up into the UV cloud

I have a ton of MGM titles waiting to be converted. Before that, at least a dozen titles I'll have to take into Walmart for conversion because they haven't been corrected in the database yet. And there's still plenty of television that hasn't gone D2D yet...

                My sniping target short list is;
                1. Seabiscuit - Universal
                2. Schindler's List - Universal
                3. Igor - MGM
                4. Fiddler on the Roof - MGM
                5. Stargate - Lionsgate

The last one is the one I am hoping for most.

Lots of Disney owned stuff like Deep Rising, 13th Warrior, Hidalgo, King Arthur...

no doubt. SD only currently on Vudu via EST. No way would I accept a SD D2D for that one.

I'm reminded that there are still quite a number of WB titles that are still only available in SD and I'm not converting anything unless it's going to be available in HD.

I'm still far from the end...over 100+ titles to convert. Wife is making me spread out the pain. As long as I get them done before the 50% promotion ends, I'm good. This is not including the MGM or Disney titles that I would love to have on the list.

As for Jeremiah Johnson only in SD, I went ahead and got it SD via D2D DVD-->SD. That title is an important one for me and I figured an extra $5 if an HDX version becomes available is not a bad price to upgrade that title. In the mean time, I have already watched I think 3 times since I did the D2D on it. For sure, I got my $2 monies worth.
