If you look at this post: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.ph...postcount=1002

You can see that "on or around" was added to the received date on The Butler. Not sure if others will have that now as well.

In the business world when Walmart tells a supplier to "jump" the response is always simply "how high". It's comical to suggest that Walmart can't fix these supply problems when a simple 30 second phone call would do the trick.

More of the same garbage this week as I have pre-orders for "Elysium" and "The Lone Ranger" that haven't shipped yet and obviously due to the cheap delivery methods Walmart uses they will not be here till 4-5 days after release date at best. In reality since they haven't shipped who knows when they will.

There is no watching "The Lone Ranger" early since it will not be available to view until the release date.
I have a high end home theater system and buy Blu-rays for the best picture and sound quality. VUDU HDX is good but it aint Blu-ray.

Less than competitive prices and no release date delivery pretty much insures I am done with Walmart pre-orders.
It truly offers no advantages vs just buying upon release at this point.

The non response way they handle the problem pretty much tells me they really have no interest in keeping my business so I shall not disappoint them.

Re: Despicable Me 2 Pre-Order and Walmart

I was about to throw in the note about The Lone Ranger, but I see Nugent has that covered for me directly above.

Uh, yeah, these pre-orders, which used to work out fairly well for me, are now proving to be basically worthless.

I saw Frozen available as a pre-order and considered it, but decided to stick to my guns and just ignore it. I can get it from other sources without any worries about delays and such and still pretty much get the same results.

I'm also in agreement with Nugent's thoughts above when he mentions that W*mart/Vudu should be the 800 pound gorilla. They are big enough to make demands upon suppliers and should expect to get the results they want, but it seems they are instead failing to do so, or are making demands that wind up slowing things down more than they should.

Again, I'm not interested in paying more for waiting longer, and W*mart/Vudu not even making an effort to make up for it with customers just sours me all the more.

The "let's see if it keeps happening" has already occurred. This is NOT the first time, or the second. It's been repetitive, and so much so in the recent past that it's now the norm, not the exception.

Totally agree I have received 1 movie on time a couple a day late no big deal for me.
But that is out of roughly 25 preorders with majority falling in the 1-2 weeks late and one at more than 5 weeks late.
Now they are even lowering the cost for those that buy them later Despicable Me 2 was ~$20 for like 2 weeks before release, I preordered back in July for ~$25-$26 and received my copy late and the package looks like it was ran over by a car. You would really think they would for that extra $5-$6 they got from me now on more than a couple movies they would rush mine out on time.
