Too many D2D issues with Vudu to Go beta and HD upgrade options

    Dear Vudu,

Please forgive my wavering loyalty to you. I have gone to the Darkside (Cinemanow/Flixster) and converted movies that don't work in the app and don't have an HD upgrade option (so far Everone's Hero and The One). I would ideally love to have all of my D2D purchases made here even without the current half off promotion. I am slowly losing hope the app will have at least some of the reported kinks fixed soon. In my view Vudu is the UV streaming service leader but both Cinemanow and Flixster have HD options on many of the movies you do not. Their software also properly reads every one of my discs that your does not. I will probably convert A Soldier's Story DVD elsewhere because here it's not properly read and there's no HD option. I know it must be very difficult to deal with the studios but I'm extremely impatient. Even the activity on the forum appears to be slowing down from all of the waiting. Please do the right thing to help me maintain my loyalty to Vudu by reading the Discs properly and adding HD upgrade options more often. Thanks for listening.

    Regards,

    Mo

Hope they get these issues worked out soon. I realize this D2D is still in beta but it's a bit difficult recommending it to friends when you have to explain to them that your discs might not be eligible, or you might get an error, or there might be a problem verifying the disc or the wrong movie might pop up.

To make things worse they don't seem to be fixing any of the bug submissions and there hasn't been many movies added to the list of eligible titles lately. Most members here will probably stick with VUDU regardless of the current problems but you'd like to think we would get a little more communication so us early adopters wouldn't be alienated or rubbed the wrong way to some degree.

With that being said, I love me some VUDU.

I will admit I sorta like it when my disc is read as a different movie. Its like getting 2 movies. Convert 1 by d2d app convert the actual disc at Walmart. Then there are the ones like the star trek/2 movies in one at Walmart for 9.99...got 4 movies...when disc put in it asked me, "which movie do you want to convert?" 4 options...I click the tile of movie I want, then eject the disc rinse and repeat for 4 movies instead of 2. Anyone else found other multiple movie redemption option like the star trek i describe? VUDU not perfect but if you have an internet connection that's decent it rocks streaming. Love the cloud. I think UV is here to stay.

I agree it's difficult to recommend D2D (if you value your rep) using the app because of the issues and I also love me some Vudu
