    Blue Bin: Now on Vudu

I had been starting to collect packaged media again due to my swat actions in my local WalMart where I would raid their Blue Bin for UV titles.

I guess the good folks at Vudu knew what I was up to and decided to stop that silly behavior. Now, I can raid the blue bin from the comfort of my home.

But this only gets you the digital version. I like having the physical media to take up space at home. I'm just crazy like that.

Blue bin is actually a better deal because at least you can sell the blu-ray copy for a little bit. Also most of the $7.88 listed on the sale are available for d2d for $2 need to put stuff on sale that you can't get otherwise but they say weekly so maybe each week there will be something on there. I plan on buying American Psycho because it is not d2d personally.

Just a little over a week ago, I bought X2, X-Men Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine from my local Blue Bin. I do not own any of those on physical so no D2D route.

I came back to my computer and redeemed the digital copy codes into HDX additions into my Vudu library. The physical discs are now sitting in a drawer, never to see the light of day again.

I do not like clutter and buying packaged media just as a cheep method of adding HDX titles leaves behind the discs never to be used. I am personally grateful for Vudu to bring the Blue Bin into a pure EST venu. Now, I really have no reason to buy a blueray disc ever again. The Blue Bin was my last reason I had, but now that it is native in the Vudu store front, that is gone too.

Me too! I either already own a lot of them or I'm not interested except for American Psycho. I'm wondering if I should wait and either get it for $1.00 or $2.00 or get it now at $7.88? Anyone know if "Carriers" is good, sounds kind of interesting to me and it stars Chris Pine?

Exactly. $7.88 for UV - $X.XX for BD resale = $X.XX NN for UV.

I appreciate the effort of adding the $7.88 digital download. Better would be if Walmart would just allow me to do the $7.88 bargain bin for in store pick in since all stores within 20 miles of me pretty much suck in one way or another for it.

your calculation is missing a factor.

...cost of your time to recoup the ~$2.00 from resale.

Depending on the cost you associate with your time, this is either a wash, or the EST $7.88 costs less.

I normally factor my free time at about $10.00 per hour. If I am sinking free time, I like to also factor the cost of my time into whatever I am doing. If you are considering your free time to be cost free, then the Blue Bin method in the store costs less once you recoup cash from the resale. For me, that time has a cost associated with it which makes the EST method cost less.

Not really. I do these in bulk. I have Amazon and eBay seller accounts and have been buying and selling for over a decade. I can list a product in as much time as it takes to scan a barcode. In the case of Amazon where stuff often sells for well over what it sells for over eBay if you know what you're doing and have patience you can make money.

yeah, if you have a trigger finger on a resale method that is primed there is really not much cost.

I have never been big in e-bay. I just use a local pawn shop when I have little stuff I am looking to liquidate.

for you, the blue bin in the store would be the way to go.

I did not get a response from this? Is it because "Carriers" is not good?

Don't recall the original post. Saw this post and checked out the movie details. Options are of course subjective. That said I've never seen it. I've never even hear of it. I LOVE film and I LOVE Zombie film to which I would in general lump thing into the general population. Look's pretty run of the mill for it's budget. I'd saw worth seeing though, maybe a repeat viewing viewing but probably about it. Checking out IMBD it only got 26K+ votes in the last 4 years so not too many people saw it and got a 6.1 out of 10 so decent but not anything to write home about. The interesting thing is that kids, mid-aged, old-aged, male, female all basically gave it 6.1 as well. That is REAL rare so it's basically generally liked by everyone. I'm just surprised I've never seen, or heard of it before. There are plenty of people in the movie though you'll be picking out as having seen in other many movies. I swear it's never been on TV either, not even on Sifi who love this stuff. Maybe the studio canned distribution to not taint Star Trek? It did only pull in $5.8M at the box office too.

I am pretty much digital only now, but I do still buy the Disney titles. For me, if it is the same price, I will always buy the discs if it comes with the digital copy opposed to just the digital version. I could sell, trade, donate or just give away the discs to friends and family. Now if the digital only version was cheaper than the digital and disc, that is a different story. Make them $5 instead of $7.88 and that is a better value.

                          W00T!

I noticed this when I was browsing from the PS3 last night.

This was made for folks like me. I have just a little over 200 movies (mostly via D2D), but there are still more I want to have in my collection, and there are a couple that I'm probably going to buy from the current crop like Easy A and Mortal Kombat (stop judging me).

Is it confirmed that this will strictly be UV titles, or will some non-UV movies also make their way in?

The blu bin at Wally World actually had/has non-uv movies in it. I bought the Terminator and it came with a non-uv HD copy of Robocop . Unfortunately no Terminator though.

I'm still disappointed with the quality of the sound on digital movies. Many are still stereo only. That alone is a good reason to get the disc for home viewing.

I can see they may offer SD movies at $5, since they do that already at the store. I expect they still see HDX as a premium service, so I don't expect $5 for those yet.
