Vudu To Go install problems when using Chrome (but not IE)

I've had issues for the better part of a year with trying to get VTG to work by downloading it from Google Chrome. It would never get a clean install and I would have problems where it wouldn't log me in or tabs would be missing from my app.

Tonight I had a eureka moment and thought, "What if I downloaded from Internet Explorer instead."

Well that seems to have made all the difference as now I've added some discs that I'd been hoping to add all this time.

I don't know what the difference would be between the browsers. Maybe there's something about downloading it to a drive and running it vs. running it from the browser popup. Who knows?

Anyway, if you hear of someone having a problem with the install, suggest downloading from Internet Explorer.

I have no problem downloading it with Chrome on my Mac at home.

I use Chrome on my Windows PC at work but I can't recall if I was using Chrome (or Firefox) at the time I installed Vudu to Go. Future updates have been Chrome though.

Initially I had some problems with Adobe Air though. Just uninstalled Vudu to Go and Air though and then reinstall Air and then Vudu To Go solved my problem. If I tried to do Vudu To Go without fixing Adobe Air first it never worked right.

    Example.

I wonder if there are some Chrome extensions that I'm missing.

I did this on both my home and work PC with the same results, i.e. Chrome didn't work.

I also had issues with another vendor's media conversion software (don't know if we can talk about it but it rhymes with Minemamow from Rest Rye)* trying to install from Chrome. That application wouldn't work either until I installed it from Internet Explorer.

*Who am I kidding? Like this is actually going to be READ by Vudu support?

From the looks of it, a few support agents have already read your post

Unless you have issue with previous installed of Adobe Air, the current version should not have issue with installation on Chrome. In the past, we packaged the installation under AIR so it would not work with Chrome. We provide the full installation package as dmg (for OS X) and exe for windows. Upon that it would need to have a good installation of AIR.

If you have issue then I would think to clean up AIR , and VUDU To Go and then reinstall our current version.

I don't know what to tell you other than that I followed this advice* AT LEAST a half-dozen times and it still didn't work.

*I've followed these steps more times than I can count, all from Chrome, and it never worked.
-uninstall VUDU to GO and Adobe Air from the control panel, like before

              - go to the Start Menu and in the search field type the following: %APPDATA%
a folder should show up named "Roaming." click to open it

-right click on the folder com.vudu.air.Downloader and delete it

-now click on the folder Adobe->AIR
right click on the AIR folder and delete it.

              -Then reinstall VUDU to GO
I even searched my C:\ drive for ANY instances of "Vudu" or "Air" and deleted those. It never mattered.

I'm sorry to hear that it did not work for you. Now let's get more information to see how we can help.
                - What is your OS? (Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 32/64-bit? or OS X 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5 ...)
                - What is your hardware? (Make and model)
                - Can you elaborate "it never worked"? Please tell us more where it fails.

                Thanks,
                LLN

That won't be necessary. I had a case for it (130704-000067) but someone closed it before it was fully resolved. I have a Dell Studio laptop and am running Windows 7. "Never worked" meant that I could never log in and/or tabs would be missing after install. Your team was never able to replicate my problem.

Now that I've figured it out on my own, I don't need to go through figuring out why it wouldn't work with Chrome.

Unless it was in the past, we have switched to full package installation which is independent of browser.

If you have more issue please let us know.

                    Thanks,
