    Problem with in store D2D?

I decided since I have the day off today to take a group of movies ($52 worth) I have that are unreadable in Vudu2Go in to Walmart. I got there and was glad to see the lady who helped me before there. She pulled up my cart and added it. When she submitted the order in their in store system it kept timing out and kicking everything back to my cart. She tried about 5 times but I could not check out. Anyone else have any luck with in store today?

That happened to me on October 5th and again on October 9th. Both times they kept trying for over an hour while I was shopping. They called tech support, but never got it fixed.

I'm wondering if the problem is due to my large library. I've got about 1500 titles. Maybe it's taking too long to load?

It shouldn't have anything to do with how many titles you already have loaded.

Have you created a case to see if Vudu can determine what is going on?

I had the timeout problem the last time I did a batch. We tried three or four times, decreasing the amount in the transaction and it made no difference. Tried doing it at the cellular dept instead and it went through without a problem.

Me too. The computer in the cell dept is one that is on a rotating tray. It is a thin client computer of some kind instead of the full PC in the photo lab that has the browser add on problem. I guess this is a work around until they get the security policy fixed.

I went to Wally World today for conversions that of course don't work in the app. As luck would have it they can't get it to work in the store either. This is really starting to get frustrating. What started out with only a few bugs and setbacks only seems to be getting worse. The app started with issues and fixes are nowhere in sight. Now issues have spilled over into the store. Come on Vudu don't get too cocky here. What the heck is going on? Please get this sorted out.

Try at the cell phone department instead. Worked for me when doing it at the photo department didn't. The VUDU conversion is in the digital services section of their kiosk applications.

Even if you can find someone at the store willing to do it at the cell phone section that is still a lot of trouble for a service that is supposed to make things convenient. At this point in d2d we shouldn't have to look for work arounds for both the in store and home services. Granted, the home service is still in beta for whatever reason so we can't expect perfection there, but as for the store service? Give me a break. It's been over a year and it's still a chore for a lot of people to get it done. At my local store if I don't see the guy who helps me there I just turn around and walk out. It's just not worth the hassle.

I took your advice and told the Photo people about it . We used two different touch screen cellphone department kiosk computers and 3 different people tried to locate this section on them. They even let me search for the Digital Services section but it can't be found. Do you have something more specific to go by to locate the Digital Services section? Thanks.

Meanwhile...we went back to the Photo department and got this error message.

Requested time out. Failed to create digital copy transaction. Please try again and contact field support if issues continue.

Could someone from Vudu please give me some direction here? Thanks.

Re: Problem with in store D2D?

Just Thursday took some in to convert due to VUDUToGo was not able to recognize the Blu-Rays.

I have been taking discs in to convert since the start of the program, we have used the in-store systems at the Cell Phone cases/display to do the conversion (store associates have always directed me to the Cell Phone display counter). There are apparently limited in-store systems at this location and, possibly all store locations, none of them are or ever have been at the Photo Counter in my experience. The only in-store systems that have been used when I have gone in for the D2D conversion, are at the glass cases where the Cell Phones are on display.

I mentioned to the Store Manager (he is typically the person that does my D2D conversions recently) the issues in this thread, that we might have problems with the D2D conversion. He indicated that the stores have limited in-store systems that can do the conversions, typically they are in the Photo Counter OR more often at one of the electronic counters, ie Cell Phone Counter display. He had just preformed another D2D conversion for another customer and had no issues, in fact my conversion was used as a training exercise for one of the other associates. I am always the training guinea pig it seems

In the case of this (my) store location, the only available in-store system(s) are at the Cell Phone Counter. He also indicated that often one of the systems will work and the other will not. Apparently this has something to do with the link that these particular in-house WalMart systems have with the outside world which the other in-house systems do not have at the typical counters.

So, t'were it me I would look for the counter that has the Cell Phone Display in the electronics department and go from there. Oh and drag the associate that does the conversions, or Store Manager along, he/she (Store Manager) is generally lurking behind the Photo Counter in the back of the store.

                    JMHO

I misspoke before. It's actually in "more applications", though I suppose not all stores will have it.

So...on my 4th trip to Wally World today we found the Vudu in store conversion section on the Cellphone kiosk computer. Imagine my surprise when it didn't work

                        SAME PROBLEM

Requested time out. Failed to create digital copy transaction. Please try again and contact field support if issues continue.

Could someone from Vudu please give me some solution here? Thanks.

I actaully had this happen to me and I was able to help them fix it. Its been a few weeks, so I don't remember the exact verbage, but there was a message that popped up near the browser bar similar to a pop up blocker. Thre is I believe a yes/no option to enable something. Im sorry this is vague, but it should help point in the right direction. If some one is able to take a pic of the screen that would help tremendously

Does the machine at this kiosk stamp your disc(s)?

That is, assuming anyone has ever gotten it to work.
