Re: Problem with in store D2D?

I also encountered this problem earlier in the week, with the same "request timed out" message appearing when the associate tried to check out. The associate actually let me use the computer and try it myself, and I was eventually able to do it successfully.

I don't know if all the computers are the same, but this one was using Internet Explorer, and at some point during the process a pop-up warning appeared about connecting to an untrusted site, with the option to pick yes or no. The associate had always clicked no, but I clicked yes, and then one of those IE status bar messages appeared saying that it was blocking certain content. I right-clicked on that message, selected the option to show the content anyway, then the page loaded for a while and gave the same old "timed out" error. But when I tried to check out again, I got the pop-up warning, clicked yes, didn't get the blocked content message this time, and the checkout was successful.

So if you have a particularly patient associate who can follow those directions (or one that will let you do the check out yourself), you should be able to do in-store d2d despite the time out error.

      SAME PROBLEM

Requested time out. Failed to create digital copy transaction. Please try again and contact field support if issues continue.
I had this same problem occur with a transaction of 20 blu-rays I took to Walmart for Vudu in-store conversion. They tried repeatedly but couldn't resolve the issue. Luckily, the transaction was saved in their system, and I went to another Walmart a few miles away the next day, and they were able to pull up the stored transaction with the 20 titles, and thankfully completed the transaction without any problems; the titles then immediately appeared in my account.

So if one store fails, make sure they store the transaction and venture to another Walmart when you have the opportunity to give it another try.

I am new to forum but have lots of Questions. I was able to convert most of my movies at home but had a few that I needed to take to Walmart. I went to the one closes to the house and they say theory do not do this in stores anymore and showed me so memo from August they got telling them D@D was able to be done at home. Asked to speak to manager and got same story. Os there some secret handshake or verbiage one uses to get to the right person or is this walmrt juste messed up. i went to two walmarts and got the same we do not do this anymore response.

That is just lazy employees. The in home service is still in Beta. Even if Vudu/Walmart decided to end the in store service they would at least wait until the in home service was fully up and running. A lot of people get confused and think that the Beta is over, but it's not. I think your stores are just using the at home service as an excuse not to do their job which they never really wanted to do in the first place. You really have to get lucky with the in store service. Some people on this board have a good relationship with the employees there and are able to walk in and have there movies done in a few minutes. Others (like me) have hit or miss service while others (like you apparently) have horrible luck with Walmart employees flat out telling lies or refusing to even attempt the service. I would try contacting corporate by phone or email and let them know that your stores are refusing to use the program.

Thanks for the suggestion but we solved it by using the Kiosk in the cellphone department and selecting the movies one by one instead of adding all to cart in one shot.

Not sure if this has been resolved yet, but I just took a bunch of my "manually verify" movies in to walmart (World War Z unrated, The Way Way Back, Thin Ice, etc...) and it worked fine from the regular photo counter. Hopefully that's a good sign for everyone.
