That would be incorrect. I've upgraded movies from SD versions provided by the code to HDx versions via D2D. Granted, that was like 2 movies, but still, it can be done, as long as the movie is D2D eligible.

Eight Men Out. DVD. UPC 88390410295380.

This is the 2008 20th Anniversary Edition. I've tried both my LG BE14NU40 External Blu Ray writer, and the native DVD RW drive in my new laptop.

    Unable to identify this disc.

As soon as I put it in, Cyberlink Power DVD 12 starts to play the drive. I also tested my system identifying other DVDs with the Disc to Digital software, and they read no problem.

It says it is available for disc to digital, and this hasn't been released on Blu Ray yet. So, there shouldn't be a problem. Please get this one added asap. Thanks!
Eight Men out is MGM and is not on the list of D2d Titles. It is not even UV at this point.

I get 2 to pick from (both look the same) I select EITHER and it prompts the HDX (fine so far) but when it's added to my list of other titles it is listed as SD despite the following description:

The Fast and the Furious [Limited Edition] [Includes Digital Copy] [2 Discs] [Blu-ray] - DVD

By the way, my 2 disk version includes an itunes (grrrr worthless) digital copy NOT a DVD at all.

I'm guessing I can take this into Walmart perhaps, but from the description of everyone else, it's about as infuriating as using this D2D app.

Fast & Furious (4th title) Bluray w/ itunes Digital Copy results in "Unable to identify"

Oddly, the 2nd and 3rd films from the same bluray version (which includes an itunes Digial Copy) use the D2D app JUST FINE. Infuriating.
There is a very simple solution to this so don't waste your time going to walmart. Once you are signed into your vudu account go to this vudu page/link http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html
chances are you will see Fast and the Furious on this list and it will say SD under it. Remove it from the list and then load the movie into the app again. This time when you chose HDX it will Appear in your cart as HDX.

If this is confusing to you in any way just send me a PM I'd be glad to help you out.

That is not always true. For example, Step Up Revolutions on DVD comes with an Ultraviolet Code and Digital Copy and works just fine with VUDU to Go.

So the customer service person still has a FAQ in their script about this thread, which hasn't seen any attention from a Vudu employee or any titles being fixed in a long, long, long time, in a forum that has had all links removed from Vudu's main page so no new people would ever find it.

Sigh.. I still have a sliver of hope though that is purely because I liked the D2D idea and was hoping they would actually do what they intended in improving it but those behind it obviously couldn't keep the funding coming. At least they were able to keep it on life support so it hasn't been cancelled entirely yet.

As for this thread.. People, stop investing your time writing lists of titles here. Great intent but nobody but us chickens have seen what you post in a long time, let alone done anything about it.
I recieved an email from UVVU today pushing d2d and the three providers they want us to use are Vudu, Flixster and Kaleidescape. So I think there is still a push to get us to use it. I wish i had a a few thousand laying around that Machine that Kaleidesape have is bad to the bone and you can do D2d right from the set top machine. and even without d2d if you play a dvd in it it automaticly streams the 1080p version

    Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting VUDU Customer Care. I apologize for the errors you?ve encountered while using our In-Home Disc to Digital Beta. We are aware there are some movies that are still not being recognized properly and we are attempting to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. We post updates regularly on our forums at:
    https://forum.vudu.com/showthread.ph...O-DIGITAL-Bugs
Until we are able to resolve the issue with the beta, we remind you that you can still take these movies to your local Walmart for conversion; at this time, this is the only resolution we have.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience but appreciate your patience and assistance in this matter and hope to have a resolution soon.

    Best Regards,

So as of this afternoon, disc to digital is still in beta. Many of these programs never leave beta even after several years- I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of them.
