Re: In-Home D2D Bugs - Movie not recognized / Mapping Issues

Newbie here - first post. I've downloaded the Vudu to go app on my Mac, and I've got 14 DVDs in my cart all set to purchase HDX versions. The problem is, I should have 22.

Fast Times At Ridgemont High - Collector's Edition DVD incorrectly came up as "It Could Happen To You". I clicked "Not my disc", entered FTARH and received a message that my disc would be manually verified, and that I would be notified when that was done. Not too bad, sounds positive, I'll just wait for notification.

The following DVDs, however, gave me the apparently not too uncommon "There was a problem while verifying this disc" error.
      Borat
      The Exorcist
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
      The Simpsons Movie
      True Romance

I also intend to purchase HDX copies of the following Blurays:
      Avatar
      Kick-***
... but I don't have a Bluray drive on my computer. I guess Walmart is my only option...?

As noted above, I'd like to check out and buy the 14 HDX movies I have in my cart, but I don't want to lose my chance to get these others for half price. Any chance they'll be fixed?

Also, any advice re: the blurays would be great (though, unless I can somehow show Vudu that I have them via my PS3, I expect I'm prob out of luck).

The Blu Ray disk for The Game works on the Vudu to Go app. Atleast the BluRay disk that I used did.

My personal opinion on why most of the disks do not read on the Vudu to go app, Especially anything new, is because the Gracenote App Extention they are using was Released in 2013 and they continue to use version 3.5 (Released in 2013) even though Gracenote has already released 3.7.

Is there a Reason that the Gracenote SDK 3.5 Extention is used when they could be using the Gracenote SDK 3.7?
            Just curious.

No one will ever contact you (and likely nothing that doesn't work today will ever work). Go to http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html and delete out the DVD version of The Thing you will see there and try it again.

                Vudu Disc to Digital issues

                Hello:

I have been uploading my movies to Vudu and have been having issues with some of the movies I have. Is there any way you can help me with these. They are listed below:

'The Wild Bunch': I have the director's cut but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'Donnie Brasco': I have the extended version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'The Patriot': I have the extended version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'The Exorcist': I have the extended director's cut but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'Avatar': I have the collector's edition extended blu-ray version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'Sucker Punch': I have the extended version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'Hellboy': I have the director's cut but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'AVP: Alien vs. Predator': I have the unrated extended version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'AVP: Alien vs. Predator: Requiem': I have the unrated extended version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu
'Stargate': I have the extended version but the regular version was what was uploaded to my Vudu

These blu-rays did not want to load into Vudu at all: 'Prestige', 'The Proposition', 'Mimic' (director's cut), 'Casino Royale' (collector's edition), 'Captain America: The First Avenger' (limited edition), 'The Terminator', 'Knight and Day', and 'Titanic'

From the 'Rambo' blu-ray trilogy set, 'Rambo First Blood' was the only one that loaded correctly. When I load Rambo II and Rambo III, it will show me the option to upload Rambo Part I again.

When I put 'Tears of the Sun' blu-ray, it shows me that I can upload the dvd version and is still charging $5.

                Thank you,
                Rene

I'm not sure why people still post D2D mapping/not recognized issues. Vudu hasn't responded to this thread in awhile and the titles being fixed are next to nothing. It was really going swell at first and then for some reason it came to a halt.

The best way to deal with the problem is to call Vudu support. 1-888-554-VUDU.

Most of these movies are not D2D eligible Captain america is a paramount title that actually belongs to disney now so it will not work (I have been told it did in the [past before disney bought marvel)
Rambo 2 and 3 The Terminator and Casino Royale are MGM titles and are not D2D eligble
Titanic is not UV and therefore is not D2D

Not really a bug, but I just noticed that Madea's Family Reunion: The Play is not a UV title but IS D2D eligible. I know there are occasional exceptions but I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of the old D2Ds that were not UV before, now are. Any plans for Madea's Family Reunion: The Play to go UV?

It, along with Tucker a Man and his Dream also list Blu-Rays under disc to digital, when none exist anywhere in the world, nor have any been announced

That was something that happened at the beginning of D2D a few years back. The original list had everything listed with a Blu Ray and DVD option regardless if a BD existed. There are lots of movies like that in the database. If they haven't fixed it yet it seems unlikely that 3 years later they will fix it now. Especially considering the sheer number of movies they have BDs listed for where none exist.

You should check the database - there is no Avatar extended available. Nor Wild Bunch director's cut. If there is no version available via UV there really is no issue...

I have converted over 400 movies to D2D, either using my DVD drive or by taking them to Wal-Mart. However, when I try to convert the following movies to D2D they say they are not eligible for D2D even though they are shown as buyable on Vudu. These moves are:

                                Collateral
                                The Recruit

                                Shanghai Knights
                                Open Range
                                Enemy of the State
                                The Emperor's New Groove
                                The 13th Warrior
                                Wild Things
                                Derailed

10 Things I Hate About You
