Here's an interesting one. I picked up an old Betty Davis DVD (Old Acquaintance UPC 0012569678804) at the 99 cent only store. When Vudu 2 Go reads it it gives me the option of 3 movies (Jezebel, Now Voyager and Dark Victory) but does not give me the actual movie Old Aquaintance

Old Acquaintance DVD (UPC 0012569678804): Gives option of Jezebel, Now Voyager or Dark Victory, but not Old Acquaintance.

Also, from the Clint Eastwood Collection (Blu Ray) UPC 883929109043

Kelly's Heroes Blu Ray: Gives choice of Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino or Heartbreak Ridge (which is not even in the set). When selecting "not my disc" it only give a DVD option for Kelly's Heroes. No option to select BD.

Why does VUDU claim that a title is eligible for D2D, but when you go to scan the title, VUDU D2D says the title is not eligible for D2D. Is this because they want us to pay full price to download the digital version of a title? Hmmmm?

No. It's because it's a Beta and they are working on fixing the errors before releasing the final version. Sometimes movies have the same name also. For example, a few people have reported "The Illusionist" comes up as not eligible when really there are 2 movies named the Illusionist and only one is d2d/UV enabled. What movie are you talking about?

Nice conspiracy theory, but you can always take your disc to Walmart and pay for the D2D conversion there. They just do a visual check, so it doesn't matter if the VuduToGo beta app recognizes the disc.

Just make sure to keep an eye out for the black helicopters when you go.

Unfortunately it's been in beta just shy of a year with no end in sight.

Should be out of beta as soon as they switch between Gracenote and Rovi.

Has this been confirmed? While this would be nice it would not explain the recent remapping of titles.

I was just saying, the competitors' recognition/database seems to work great, even for titles they don't have it has almost a 100% recognition rate, while Vudu's provider has problems with, i'd say, at least 25% of the discs tried.

Then we wouldn't be able to use Blu's to upgrade. Personally, I'd rather they stick with Gracenote. I barely have any DVD's left.

I have been converting all of my movies and came across these that could not be identified. I tried several times over the past few weeks to enter the correct name but they have never been resolved.

                            Almost Famous: UPC: 67068781823

Why would the ability to upgrade with Blu-ray be solely limited to Gracenote? Rovi can detect Blu-ray's just fine so if Vudu wanted to switch I'm sure Rovi wouldn't limit them to just DVDs.

I'm going to start spamming GraceNote with requests to fix their video metadata. Everyone should do the same and maybe they'll start to fix the issues.
