The Incredible Hulk (Universal blu-ray 025195041331) seems to be recognized as a DVD however choosing the HDX option at $5 gets an error that the format is invalid.

GoodFellas (disc 2 of 8 83929 25531 3) - Blu-ray recognized as DVD. Other 2 movies in this set (The Departed & The Aviator) properly recognized as Blu-ray.

I believe Underworld (Unrated) is another mistaken listing on Vudu and d2d (Like Alien Vs Predator: Requiem Unrated). Both versions are actually the theatrical version based on the run times (122 minutes each).

Would it be helpful to post the actual disc ID's? I assume the software is looking at, not the UPC which of course isn't on the disc and one UPC can have multiple disc ID's over time.

As noted you should wait as what you buy is what you get. Note that you'll have to go to http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html to delete out the DVD version keeps on file after you delete it out of the cart. If you don't do that, every time you try to add the HDX version, you'll see it as DVD in the cart.

How do you propose getting the disc ID?

There are various DVD and Blu-ray cataloging systems that have a method of generating a disc ID. For DVD's, there's a standard function for it and that can be cross-matched with Rovi. I don't know off hand what Gracenote uses. Blu-ray is a different matter. My Movies and DVD Profiler use same standard function for DVD, but have proprietary solutions for Blu-ray and HD DVD.

Even if you use such software to get a disc ID, it isn't necessarily something that VUDU can use.

That's the issue, not all methods of generating a disc ID are equal.

We could always post the output from the GN TOCGEN tool but I'm not sure what good that might do. Of course the gnsdk_tocgen.dll used by inhomed2d.exe has a build date of 2013-05-05 12:42-0700 and is a prerelease version.

Good points on not knowing what they are using. When I've had to deal with studios on a replacement disc swap, they wanted the ID off the inner ring of the disc but I don't know if that information is on the disc information. Could be a suggestion then, to have the support teams ask the devs to add the feature to the app of an option of being to display the disk information they need to determine the problem area. Though that wouldn't help on the disks that the app can't read (though everything else can).
Just trying to think of ways for our posts to be more useful than a title name as even if they did try to address a title, it doesn't mean it is the same one you are having issues with.

What's interesting is the inhomedvd.exe (TOCGEN) app can read the discs even if the V2G has a problem verifying a disc. I'm curious how Vudu is using this executable and associated dll.
