From what I can tell no movies after 2012 work at all. Has anyone seen a 2014/15 movie work? Not sure why the Walmart store d2d is different than the v2g application. Especially since I can't get the Walmart stores to work any more.

I think what's happening is that as more and more discs are sold w/digital redemption codes included, the studios whom license the D2D retailing rights to Vudu (and others) are increasingly concerned that digital rights might be used (re-sold) more than once per disc copy. They probably assume that by "pushing" D2D in store where disc are supposed to be stamped that it will stop some of that. I've noticed that releases 2013 (when digital rights included really seemed to take off) and forward are less likely to accept D2D at home. I've actually never had a problem with in store D2D, but I admit I appear to be one of the lucky ones. I think the thing we need to remember is that Vudu WANTS to sell us the content, D2D and otherwise, but they're really at the mercy of the studios as to what and how content is sold.

I never use to have trouble and now lately all they get is request time-outs and these are the same stores I have been using to convert my discs. These clerks know how to do it, the software is just not letting them And lots of people buy used discs that the uv have already been used and pay to make them digital.

It's one thing if the release came with a UV copy but many releases don't even come with a digital code thus those discs should not be an issue.

I really think the issue is with Vudu's front end and not the GraceNote database. My Oppo will correctly identify discs that the Vudu D2D app will not (either error out or can't recognize).

Re: In-Home D2D Bugs - Movie not recognized / Mapping Issues

I'm not getting errors but I have encountered a problem getting D2D to recognize when there are multiple movies on a DVD. It will add one of the titles without a hitch but it doesn't seem to see the other title. It's actually seeing the second title on the disc and not the first.

            Is this common behavior?

            Thanks,
            Ray

I am trying to convert my purchased bluray copy of Starman to digital form to watch while away from home. When I insert the disc, vudu did not recognize the movie. It then asked for me to type in the name, which I did. Vudu responded that it would manually verify the bluray copy of Starman and get back to me shortly. That was a week and a half ago, and I have not heard anything. I thus now called vudu support and was told to post the issue here. Please let me know how I can get the bluray version of Starman added to my collection. Thanks.

The UPC code for the bluray copy of Starman I can not convert is 043396296312. I also have a second bluray copy with UPC 9344256004599. Neither copy will convert.

It's not uncommon. Other titles have had the same problem some of which have been fixed over time. However, Vudu needs to modify those discs to be recognized as multiple discs.

I have never had anyone from Vudu "get back to me shortly" after this process. I had to take Starman to the store for conversion.

The Vudu rep at their customer service number the first time I called said it would take a few days for them to manually verify the disk, and suggested I go to Walmart for the conversion. Went to the closest Walmart (25 minutes away) and they told me they do not have the equipment to do the conversion and wanted me to go to a store about 45 minutes away, which I did not do. Figured for I wait for the Vudu notification. When I didn't hear anything after a week and a half, I called Vudu again. This time the customer support person told me the manual verification feature has not yet been implemented.

mjmbond is correct. There does not currently appear to be an active process to update status for movies not recognized - I know of no one that has ever received an update response from VUDU for a movie identified as "not recognized". Your alternatives are essentially to 1) wait to see if VUDU resolves it, 2) take it to Walmart for in-store conversion, 3) convert through a different service, or 4) buy a digital copy of the movie directly from VUDU or another vendor. I converted my DVD of Starman at Flixster last year to get an HDX version into my library.

I just signed up with flixster (based on another user's post that he converted his DVD copy of Starman using Flixster) and attempted to convert my bluray copy of Starman to digital. Apparently, Flixster's converting service will only convert DVDs. None of my bluray discs are read by Flixster's converting service, which is listed as being Beta.

Unfortunately, that's a problem with Flixster and CinemaNow. Overall, VUDU's conversion is significantly superior, so other services are only viable to fill occasional and specific (DVD-only) holes.

I know this is a waste of time but "there was a problem while verifying this disc":

Also when will TV shows be available in D2D? I would like to put on Shows like Rome, Band of brothers, the pacific, skins, Deadwood, Sons of anarchy, and Spartacus.
