VUDU loses the rights to Fox titles?

Did anyone else notice VUDU appears to have lost the rights to sell/rent quite a few Fox titles since the calendar change? As far as I can tell they are still available via D2D but about 2 dozen movies from my collection no longer show up under a search.

I noticed because scrolling through my collection on Roku, a lot of them all of sudden have SD an HD options grayed out. All of them from 20th Century Fox or Fox Searchlight. If I did a search for these titles or try to see them under a cast members name they don't appear. Only via D2D or in my collection.

Some examples: 28 Days Later, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Edward Scissorhands, and Prometheus.

There were a lot of movies that disappeared from Vudu on January 1, including Fox, Touchstone, and a lot of Disney movies. I had about 20 movies disappear from my wish list. Hopefully they will all come back eventually.

Here's a couple more Fox titles. They're in my collection, but no longer show up in search results.

      My Life In Ruins
      Trapped In Paradise
      The Oranges
      Entrapment
      My Super Ex-Girlfriend
      From Hell
      Edward Scissorhands
      Ramona & Beezus
      Never Been Kissed

There were also a bunch of Vivendi Entertainment titles that were removed on January 1st. And those were added back a couple days ago. So hopefully it's just a matter of renewing the licenses and reactivating the listings.

It's actually a pretty common thing to happen. Movies go in and out of sales windows all the time. I think the main differences on January 1st were A: The number of titles removed and B: People are more conscious of it because of UV and wishlists. For the movies that are d2d eligible it's no big deal because you can still convert them if you want. The non-UV or D2D movies are the only ones you should worry about coming back in the sales window.

Looks like the Hot Shots movies from Fox are also gone, as is True Lies. Ironically, I just did a D2D transaction on the first Hot Shots movie today without any problem, and while it shows up in my collection, it's definitely MIA when you do a VUDU search.

Wouldn't mind hearing an employee's take on the matter

Hitman and Hitman (Unrated Edition) are both gone.

Ditto. Yes, it would be very nice if they would chime in and give us an update on when/if all these titles will be brought back.

I don't think there's much they can say. It happens. Movies come and go all the time. This just happened to be a bigger group this time.

You are probably right, but I think there might be something going on behind the scenes that is a little different this time with some of the titles/studios. For example, from what I can tell based on movies in my wish list, it appears that ALL the Disney movies that were available as Rent Only (no ownership option) are gone. Of course, we will never be told what the strategies are behind the scenes. Time will tell I suppose.

I did see the Indiana Jones films are back in the rental window from Jan 28. Films do come and go. Not sure why it's a secret though.

As others on the thread have stated, this is pretty common. Content will go in and out of PTR and PTO windows from time to time. I would expect some or all of these to be back at some point.

But hasn't True Lies been out of the sales window for yonks & yonks? I D2D'd my DVD a few months back, no dramas.

I think this movie went in and out of window a couple times in the past few years.
