With all due respect Walter I believe you are in the minority in that opinion.

Again, with all due respect, V2G has been in beta for over 1 year and as far as we know it WILL be in beta for at least 1.5 years unless it gets extended again. That IS an eternity for a beta program. Don't take me the wrong way, I love Vudu but I've been worn down by the extended beta program and the lack of fixes. I'd be more than happy to open my doors to get some of these titles finally fixed in a timely manner but for some reason I doubt Vudu will take me up on that offer.

I tried to consolidate Walmart gift cards (to one) the other day and the Assistant Manager told me I can't do that because it's money laundering. Really!?!?!? I told the Manager it's on your website and is part of the terms and conditions. I had to go to a different Walmart.

Luckily for D2D I have a Walmart where the employees know what's up . However, the system is sometimes pretty glitchy.
        Amen, brother!

Anyone working in CS will attest. Only people with problems complain. The people who do not have problems are not accounted for.

I do not deny there have been complaints about staff knowledge for completing the in-store process. I challenge that the problem is universal as it has not been my experience. In fact, I have a 100% success rate with my in-store D2D transactions.

          ...respectfully.

Look, I am happy for you that you get good customer service at Walmart, but my experience is that Walmart generally has the poorest customer service of any retail chain I have ever dealt with. So much so, that I rarely, if ever, go to Walmart unless I have no choice. I have over 20 years of experience in customer service related fields, and I can tell you that I have released employees for less incompetence than I have experienced at some Walmarts. While you have a 100% success rate, I have had more like a 15% success rate, and based on the stories related here every week, I have had more success than most. At the end of the day, I find it easier to convert discs with a competitor's program if Vudu will not work. I agree with you that the loss of a few dozen $5 sales means little-to-nothing to Vudu and even less to Walmart, and I recognize that the D2D program is merely an incentive to get people to try Vudu and grow the online business. I would simply suggest that if they offer a service such as the in-store conversions, that more effort is made to actually make sure that there are employees that are familiar with the program in the event that people actually try to take advantage of the services they advertise.

Also for the record, I neither eat cheetos nor drink Mountain Dew, but thank you for assuming that I am an angry internet troll with nothing better to do than distract myself from the emptiness of my existence by complaining about minor inconvenieces on an internet forum.

I feel your pain! Early on I had major issues with 3 different Walmart stores either not knowing what Vudu was or not knowing how to log in and perform the checkout. One store finally was finely able to figure out how to do it and I stuck with them, even though it was further away from my home, for SEVERAL months until the person left and the new person didn't know how. Then I found that the Walmart closest to me learned how to do it and now I just go to them. In fact, they have 3 people who can do it!

The primary problem with Walmart, as I see it, is lack of training and turnover.

But Vudu/Walmart are the only ones doing in-store D2D currently. I don't think there are any plans by anyone else to offer this. I would be surprised if BestBuy or Target started something like this and if they did it probably wouldn't be any better.

If I could bring a stack of discs into an Apple Store and for a nominal administrative fee get them added to my iTunes account, I may very well of ended up going that route. I own an AppleTV set top box, two iPads, two iPhone 4's, and just renewed my verizon contract and got two iPhone 5s 32 GB.

No such offer exists. As such, I trape my way through the Wal-Mart route instead. It is an exceptionally good offer. A little hassle is no method to detract me from enjoying the benefits of an offer with very real value, IMHO.

Also, I do respect that some folks who hold the long beta run of in-home and the challenges of in-store staff training do in fact have legitimate gripes. In my estimation, I feel the offer is good enough value to not be bothered by staff training hassles. I too respect that there are those who do not agree with me in this stance.
