Re: CFF delayed to 2nd half of the year

Streaming and single device downloads are good enough for the majority of consumers. I'd like it, but there's no needle-moving demand for this feature.

How do you know what the demand is for downloads? Almost everyone that I know that uses iTunes instead of UV does so because they can download it and keep it. They don't have that assurance with UV, yet.

I think the itunes guys are like that because that's how itunes was for a long time....all download. People don't like change. Lots of UV users coming on board never used itunes, and have no problem with UV the way it is, at least that's how it is for me.

I actually prefer to stream than to download but I have to with iTunes because you never know when they're going to remove a movie from your account so you better download.

Just speculation, but if CFF does not exist, why would there be a new player by Zappiti(which had software that worked with Dune players) that have two approved DRMs from UV.....It already has the Netfilx app, it is Android based......I wonder if the VUDU app will work on it......I just checked it out because I did not think there were players that were compatible.....

I tried to stream Tangled tonight, and couldn't even get an SD stream. My Internet is 50 Mbps. I doubt the Internet will be less congested later in the week. Downloads would be handy.

This is true, I saw that too.....perhaps the capability can be added in firmware when CFF is formally offered by the retailers......

If you were really getting 50 megs you wouldn't be getting SD. Problem is some of these ISPs give you a fire hose, 50 meg stream but then hook 500,000 faucets up to it.

I tried HDX, then HD, then SD. None were working without buffering. It's always hard to know where the network is constricted.

I ran Speed Tests with multiple apps, and I was getting closer to 55 Mbps.

It's not entirely about speed. Blocked ports and packet loss will give you problems.
