Vudu To Go can't find the internet

Every single Blu-ray I try to convert with Vudu To Go gives me this message:

There was a communication error while verifying this disc. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again.

I've tried tethering my phone as opposed to the home wifi, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works. Sometimes it attempts to do something, other times it kicks the message back as soon as I hit 'Add Disc'. When I put the disc in my Blu-ray drive, Computer clearly sees what the disc is and I can watch the movie without a problem. Unfortunately, this is the only computer I have with a Blu-ray player, so I can't try another computer/drive.

When I'm logged into Vudu To Go, I do see all my movies in the My Purchases tab, so it is logging me in. The last movies I tried to convert were the 2009 Star Trek movie and Avatar.

The error refers to your Internet connection, not your Blu-ray drive. Check your Internet connection again.

If he sees his collection under the my movies tab Vudu to go is accessing the internet so not really clear on this.

I recently got this error a few times with a disc that Vudu couldn't read, maybe Jack Reacher DVD. Other times it gave one of the more generic error messages. Other discs would work fine right after that communication error message. I restarted the program a few times or recycled the DVD drive to get rid of that message.

Edit: How many is "Every single movie.."

Make sure Adobe Air is up to date and maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling if you aren't getting anywhere.

I get the error occasionally. Usually it fixes itself or I restart the program and it's fine.

I've tried about 12 different discs. All of them are disc to digital. I checked beforehand.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, including reinstalling Adobe Air. I've been trying to use disc to digital since early May with absolutely no luck. Same message every time. No internet. Even when I change internet sources, Vudu tells me I have no internet connection. I have never gotten an error message other than "There was a communication error while verifying this disc. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and try again."

I have always successfully logged in and been able to view my collection under My Purchases. I was even able to download one of my movies.

Have you checked the settings on your firewall (router and/or software)? That could be blocking Vudu To Go from sending and/or receiving D2D data, while letting web-like data on the My Purchases tab thru.

OK now what specific movies are you trying to convert? Are they movies known to work? Not all movies work, especially recent releases.

After the last reinstall of Vudu To Go, I went into Windows Firewall and added Vudu to the list of programs allowed through the firewall. I don't know how to go into the router to do so. We have Uverse.

Everything is Blu-ray except for Lord of the Rings. Both trilogies are separate movies, not box sets.

Not likely to be an issue (I have U-verse myself), but in most installations the router built into the U-verse "residential gateway" is at http://homeportal .

No obvious eligibility issues there; I just converted Star Trek (2009), *plus* the ten TOS & TNG movies before it, from Blu-ray within the last 48 hours or so. (Also X-Men & LOTR in the past. Edit: Just converted Avatar also.) Definitely some sort of connection issue, whether with the Internet, your drive or something else...

I have this problem when I do the conversion on my laptop which is connected through our wireless router - it'll take three tries to get it to work by clicking "Add disc", but it does eventually.

I installed the update to VUDU to Go today and had temporary success. I got a new error message, the one about an error reading the disc and I need to take it to Walmart. We have no Walmarts nearby so I tried to read it again and now I'm back to the message about being unable to connect to the internet. I've tried just hitting the Add Disc button over and over but no luck. It just says it can't connect to the internet.

What else can I do to try to fix this?

If you have a decrypter active, turn it off before inserting the disc; those can cause "error reading the disc" issues. Otherwise, there's not much you can do besides report the disc or take it to Walmart; retries may work around "unable to connect" issues, but generally not "error reading the disc" issues.
