Re: In store disc to digital

I called my local Wal-Mart and Daniel (photo center guy) tried and it worked. I will be going by tomorrow with the last 11 of my movies (currently) and get them added to my collection.

Update: Went by Friday and everything worked perfectly. They even rolled over to UVVU that night and they were available to everyone by Saturday morning. I am a happy camper...no more movies at home to convert, yet.

        { insert graphic with TAKE MY MONEY!! here }

Argh, yet again today, same store as mentioned by me previously, struck out completely.

We didn't even get as far as the person in the photo area being able to login and try to do my conversions. She tried clicking on the Vudu area of her screen and it opened up an Internet Explorer like display that just sat with a spinning icon where the mouse would be.

I've got $40+ in conversions waiting to be completed in store, and don't have a clue when I'll be able to get 'em done. I wish the process in store was self service, but could live with working with the in-store personnel if the system would allow them to actually complete the process.

Color me seriously frustrated as these issues have been going on for more than a few months now

Another day, another wasted trip to the store to try again.

Is it really that difficult for this to be fixed?

It took over 6 months for them to fix the stores in my area, but they finally did.

Make sure the employee is giving permission to the pop up. In my Walmart they get a permission pop up that's in a line directly under the web address. If they don't aknowlege it it times out. The pop up doesn't come up until after they add to cart so after the pop up they will have to push add to cart again.

You know what would be really nice? If the folks at Vudu and/or Walmart would provide instructions like this to their employees -- especially if it included graphics and pictures that show where the permissions request is.

Seriously, I suspect I could fix the problem if they'd allow me behind the counter, but I can only see from a distance of about 12 feet away. I don't see where the permissions request is, but I do know what is stopping my transaction is some sort of request for permissions that is timing out (that isn't being displayed on the screen in any sort of obvious fashion for the employee there to find and click on as necessary).

Yeah, I know, my patience has worn thin on this, but it really shouldn't have taken this long to be fixed. Oh, wait, it still wasn't fixed when I last checked. Yeah, progress is not something that seems to be happening here.

Re: In store disc to digital

Hi guys, I have a question hopefully someone with experience can help me. I went to local Walmart yesterday afternoon to convert some discs to digital copies, but as of right now the movie has not showed up in my VUDU a library yet. Is it normal to take this long for digital copy to show up in VUDU account? Thanks~

btw, I waited almost an hour until one of the emploee finally figured out what to do. Not a pleasant visit but I also try to be understanding and thinking it is probably not a popular service yet.

They should show up right away. It sounds like the process may have not been completed properly by the person that helped you. If you give us a call at (888)554-8838 we should be able to help you if you can send us your Walmart receipt.

If this experience is anything like mine the process never completes. Movies don't transfer and the barcode never becomes valid. No matter how long you wait it never completes it just hangs in limbo. I wish someone would help me out with this very issue.

Ask them if their system was updated to the Fuji system. If it was, have them contact their tech support to get it fixed. It took about 6 months of me constantly asking my local Wal-Mart to get it fixed and they finally did.

Just to be clear here. When Walmart updates to the Fuji system, is that also when it changes from the Photo department over to the Electronics department? I ask because the Walmart that I used to go to tells me it doesn't work anymore and they are still using the Photo department for D2D. The other Walmart where it does work is using the Electronics department now for D2D.

My Wal-Mart kept it in the Photo Center.

What computer is used in the Electronics department? Maybe I'll try there. Thanks for any help.

They use the same machine that they use to scan your items when you go there to pay.
