Disaster Movie - Unrated DVD to Rated HDX

I converted 10 titles the other night, DVD to HDX. Two of those titles were unrated versions. However, only one of those converted to the unrated HDX, the other converted to PG-13 HDX. Is this common? I submitted a ticket last night for it to see if I could get the theatrical version switched for the unrated version.

This was actually correct. If you look at the Disc to Digital database Disaster movie is only available on Vudu in theatrical form. They won't be able to do anything with your ticket since they don't have UV rights to the unrated version of the movie. If vudu only has the theatrical version with UV usually any dvd/BD you use to convert (Theatrical, Extended, Unrated, etc...) will give you the theatrical version. If they do decide to switch it over to the unrated you won't have UV rights to it since it's not UV enabled.

It's actually pretty common for them to only have one or the other UV enabled and that's the version you get when you use d2d.

On the positive side a lot of movies do end up with their extended/unrated/theatrical (whatever's missing UV rights) UV enabled in the long run. It's just not every movie.

Well, poo! I didn't realize that, but see you are correct when I did a search in the D2D search.

Now another question. I have 4 other DVDs that are all unrated versions. I searched the D2D database, and each one of those had results for their rated and unrated versions in the database, but when I put the disc in to convert the unrated versions, it only lets me convert to the rated versions for two of them, the third converts to unrated and the fourth gives me the option to pick rated or unrated. Now if both versions are listed, how do I get the unrated HDX from my unrated disc?

The discs in question now are American Pie Presents films:

Band Camp (Unrated) converts to R - both versions are in database
The Book of Love (Unrated) converts to Unrated or R - both versions are in database
Beta House (Unrated) converts to R - both versions are in database
The Naked Mile (Unrated) converts to Unrated - both versions are in database

Sorry if I'm asking questions with simple answers, I am new to digital and converting.

Only way would be to go in store to a Walmart. You can report it in the error thread but that might take a while to get fixed. Some people are still waiting for errors over a year old to be fixed. Ive noticed fluster and CinemaNow tend to only give rated versions even if an unrated is available. You can always use them to get the rated version if you want them. You won't get a discount though.

Would in store workers give me any trouble, if they come up as rated versions, or do they do it a different way than we do at home?

Nope. You chose the version and print out the list. They just verify that the disc matches. Trouble might be finding a Walmart with an employee that knows how to do it.

Thanks, will see what I can get accomplished. Will also post in the bug list in hopes they correct these later on.

I did hear back regarding Disaster Movie, they wanted me to send in a pic of the disc to verify it was unrated. Maybe I will get it after all.

It won't be UV unfortunately. If you don't mind that then it looks like it might be problem solved!
