I got it too. What do you mean by getting it right? It?s awesome that people can do this without a PC now... If you only mean you want it to be free that?s never going to happen, that doesn?t mean they didn?t get it right...

I got a "Disc to Digital is changing" notification on my iPhone, but when I pressed it, it took me to the D2D webpage with no details at all listed.

There isn't a "new" experience. What it says the mobile bar code scanning method will replace the disc reading method. In other words, they are ending D2D through grace note. After next week (probably), the bar code scanning method will be the sole D2D method.

That is not what it is saying. It makes zero mention that the in-home disc to digital method is being deprecated. It simply says a new mobile web experience is coming to replace the current in-app conversion. I highly doubt there would be a deprecation of the in-home computer software method to perform disc to digital without a replacement software piece being implemented for use on a computer. It wouldn?t make sense with the business model.

I hope they're not getting rid of the mobile barcode scan, because it has saved me when the discs haven't read in the desktop version.

If they get rid of UPC scan, it'll be a big mistake, so many would still buy using it. I know they have issues with keeping it updated, lots don't read or read wrong, and never seemed to be fixed, but come on! Why go through the hassle of creating it then getting rid of it within a year? Now, I could see if replacing disc based D2D, if that were the case, but it doesn't mention that at all.......

I think this is actually a very confusing ad and doesn't really explain what is changing.

It sounds like they're just moving the barcode scan from the app to their mobile site. Not sure why they would do this. They should be adding features to the app instead of removing them.

Be nice if a MOD would chime in and shed a little light if at all possible as to what we can expect this (New Experience Coming Soon) is all about.
