    HDX Awakenings: Thanks Vudu!

I just noticed that my HD copy of Awakenings was automatically upgraded to HDX today. I had added it via the D2D program. I really appreciate the upgrade and it just proves to me that Vudu is the best of the streaming retailers.

UV doesn't differentiate HD from HDX since that's a Vudu thing that only Vudu offers. I agree it's one of the things that helps separate Vudu from it's competitors. If it's HD in your UV library Vudu considers it HDX when that copy becomes available.

Weird. It clearly shows HDX in my account, but when I hit egift, it doesn't show HDX as a purchase option; only HD or SD. I only noticed since it went to the top of my movies sorted by purchase date. I just pulled it up on the tv, and while it says I own HDX, it only has SD and HD highlighted right below. I'm watching it now, and it looks really good, but given the age of the film, it's hard to say if it really is 1080p or not. Really, I just thought it was cool that they would automatically give you HDX if HD was all that was available at the time of purchase.

It's possible those pages haven't been updated yet to reflect the HDX availability. If you add the title to your in store D2D cart it shows that you'll be getting the HDX version.

It's also possible the HDX version is currently exclusive to D2D.

Same in my system, it is HDX. Have not watched it yet in HDX, but when I did the D2D conversion I took a Blu-Ray in for conversion. Went back in my purchase history it was an HDX D2D conversion when I converted it 08/12/2012, at least that is what the purchase history reflects. Checked my digital receipt in my stored e-mail and the receipt was HDX as well. Mystery, who knows, this may have been one that was only available for purchase as HD and conversion as HDX?

So if I convert a Blu-ray disc using the their D2D and it currently is only available as HD and not HDX, it will upgrade to HDX when available?

In The Name of the King is an example of this.

It still shows up only as 'HD' for me. The gift option also only includes up to 'HD.'

It appears that The Cell is only available in SD. Are you saying you're expecting an upgrade from SD to HD/HDX?
