Got wrong version of movie from D2D. Can someone please help me?

Hello, I hope this is the right place to post this.

I did a Disc to Digital conversion and it gave me the wrong version of the movie. I didn't realize until I had already checked out so now I have the wrong movie in my account. The guy who replied to my support request said he cannot fix it to the right move. Is that true? He did offer to do a refund but it won't matter much since the disc still reads as the wrong version. I've tried a few times.

It wouldn't be a huge deal but it is my Husband's favorite movie. The version we got is nothing even close to the version he fell in love with.

I swore that when I was searching here in the forum for an answer, I read someone else with the same problem was able to get it fixed to the right movie. They just had to provide proof of ownership. Sounded easy but support is telling me no. But I can't find the topic now.

The support guy also suggested I go to Walmart. I have two Walmarts that are "kind of" close. But neither of them have any idea what I'm talking about. One guy said he would look into it and call me if he learned anything. I've heard nothing. This little thing has become a huge headache.

Can someone here please help me? My support ticket # is 150106-000656. In the mean time, I'll keep looking for that post that I read where it looked like someone got it fixed for them and see if I missed anything.

    Thank you!
    -K

It depends. What is the movie that you have, and what is the one that it gave you? If you're talking about a Director's Cut vs. Theatrical Cut, then it may be that only one is eligible for D2D. (I only ask because you state "The version we got is nothing even close to the version he fell in love with.")

If they're two different movies, then it depends on whether the one you want is eligible, so let's check on that. (Vudu support was sending you to Walmart, but let's just say that the staff who read these forums are much more helpful and familiar with the product than some of the people who answer their toll free number.)

Either way, you may have to check at the photo department of your local Walmart for them to have any idea what you're talking about, if that's your only option. (There's a lot of threads on that, probably too many to sift through if you aren't familiar with the topic.) They definitely have the equipment to do it, if not the training or experience. If they keep saying they don't do it or don't know, call the Walmart corporate number, because I'm pretty sure they are ALL set up to do it.

Thank you for your reply. I should have been more specific, sorry.

It is for Miami Vice. I know it's kind of a dumb movie lol but my husband loved the tv show and loves the movie. He can't stand the unrated version so we bought the theatrical version. We tried to convert it but it will only convert to the unrated version. I checked here
      http://www.vudu.com/in_home_disc_to_digital.html
and it does show as being eligible.

There you go! Dan can probably fix it for you since both the Theatrical and Unrated versions of that movie are eligible for D2D.

I have almost the EXACT same problem. I was told they would forward it to the right person and then a gentleman named Jose told me it could not be fixed. And he told me I would have to take it to Walmart. I don't want to go into the reasons but sufficed to say, that is not an option for me. Are they trained wrong or is he correct? My Reference # is 150114-001052. Do you think you can help me as well Dan?
