    D2D and then not D2D?

    "Predestination"

Just bought this assuming I could do an in-store D2D (It's still on Fatty's list), but it doesn't show up as available for D2D. Any thoughts?

I had actually added it to my list to take in to Wal-Mart. I was going to add another movie, but the site is not working for me and it doesn't show my list of movies right now. So, it was available to add to the list but now, I can't confirm it is still on the list and I can't "re-add" it to the list because it doesn't show up when I type in the name of the movie. I'm hoping it's a temporary glitch, but who knows...

Thanks Gnatevil, I appreciate the response. Have you heard of other titles where this has happened? Seems odd to me

First time I've had this happen to me...plus, I think it broke my Cart right now. I've submitted a ticket with support to clear out my cart, but that means I lose Predestination as a D2D movie. Not gonna pay full price for something I own on Bluray.

Hopefully Predestination's D2D availability will return and we can get the title added in store. I'm curious how this plays out for you, as you actually had it in your cart! I never got it there, although I did confirm (when the title hit Fatty's list) that it was indeed available for D2D.

I'm not positive, but I believe initially Iron Man and Iron Man 2 were eligible for D2D before Disney purchased the rights to those movies.

Yes they were, but as soon as Disney obtained the rights, they disappeared. I missed out by like a week when I first started doing D2D. I was going alphabetically instead of by what was awesome and I missed that boat. I wasn't happy about that, but I have gotten them in my library now thru DMA magic.

Re: D2D and then not D2D?

A similar thing happened to me with the movie "Duets" I had it on my instore list already to have it converted and I waited a day before I took it to Walmart because I wanted to try the Bluray on the V2Go software first [where it didn't work, like most disks when it comes to that software] and when I got to walmart the next day they said it was no longer available for conversion. When I went home I noticed they changed the ownership rights to a Disney Company and the movie was now 17.99 and no longer UV or D2D. I was very mad to say the least.
Vudu does things like that all the time. There have been times a movie worked for me but I decided to wait to convert it and when I go back to convert it and purchase the movie sometime later the disk either Does not work anymore or a Different version of the film comes up that I already own. It Really gets frustrating and until they decide to offer their customers working D2D software these boards are going to be continually peppered with complaints about it. Please do us all a favor and either A. fix the problems walmart has with D2D or B. start using software that is Not from 2013.

That very well could be why your cart is broken, come to think of it.

And I believe this happens when a movie is licensed "exclusively" for one cable outlet or for a new physical media release, sometimes there's a kind of streaming embargo on it, like in the old days when a movie was first shown on HBO, HBO made a big deal out of it, as big as the DVD/Bluray release is now. Anyway, during exclusivity periods those who owned it already can still play it, but the license holder can force streaming providers to withdraw it for sale temporarily, which would include D2D. I'm not sure if that's the case with this particular movie, but it's happened that way before with other movies.

Been dealing with support. They show movies I finalized from back in Feb and Mar being in my cart. They've tried clearing it but they said they couldn't. Felipe cleared it, but it's still broke so I don't know right now. I do think that when they removed Predestination from D2D, it broke my cart. Now my wheels point 4 different ways and they can't figure out how to align them.

Edit: Felipe was able to get my cart fixed. All wheels pointing the right way and rolling down the aisle.

Though this digresses from the thread topic, it's fair to say we've all been frustrated by the D2D process from time to time. However, I think your frustration with Vudu expressed here isn't completely fair. As pointed out in other posts, licensing issues can indeed affect D2D availability. That isn't in Vudu's control. (Back OT, Predestination is a Sony title, and licensing doesn't appear to be the issue here, unlike, for example, Disney related titles.) I think Vudu's D2D software "works". The problem is really with the Gracenote DB they use for title searches, which I suppose may be in their control. But, as the saying goes, "it (Vudu) may not be perfect, but it's still the best one out there." Flixter & CinemaNow don't even allow BD D2D conversions anymore, Vudu's "standard" D2D pricing is way better than its competitors, and the 50% off for 10 or more is fantastic! While there is certainly room for improvement in Vudu's in-home and in-store D2D program, my experience has been that their CSRs are generally responsive where they can be, and again, way better than their competitors in every regard.

I am quite annoyed about Predestination as well.

I bought it with intention to D2D, as it was on the D2D list on VUDU.COM

Sure enough, home program failed to convert and now VUDU has delisted it before I can get to Walmart.

End result, I have an open movie that can't be returned and no D2D.

Same boat but hoping they add it back to the list. I'll keep trying to add it until it works.
