    The Blessing That is D2D

Probably like some other members here I have/had a major problem in just collecting movies sometimes for the sake of collecting. Did it with VHS, did it with dvds, HD dvds, and Blu-rays. It's almost like an addiction and I look at my collection at times and wonder why?

With the use of D2D I can let go. Of course my favorites will always remain with me in some type of physical content but thankfully D2D has let me give away or sell disc's that I know I would probably never watch again.

Really no point to this thread other than while I get ticked sometimes because a disc will not convert the benefit really is appreciated for those of us trying to downsize.

Re: The Blessing That is D2D

I agree - digital hoarding saves lots of space!

Be aware, though, that the terms of use technically require you to remain eligible for having the D2Ded digital copy by still owning the physical media as well. I think they're really trying to prevent people from converting rentals or setting up systems of buying, converting and selling, but it's just something to be aware of as you discuss your practices on the official site.

Re: The Blessing That is D2D

Oops... Thanks for that. Might be a tad too late on some movies. Hopefully they'll take solace knowing I didn't sell any at a profit, traded them in for in-store credit at a local used disc shop (no money exchanged), and of course walked out with more movies.

Edit: The bright side for VUDU is I do pay for the convert (though I doubt they're making any money) but the big winner is I have purchased full price movies from them because of this benefit. They have encouraged me to explore the usefulness of streaming rather than always having to have a physical copy.
