    Why can't we upgrade from HD to UHD?

    I have really appreciated Vudu's responsiveness with making titles available Disc to Digital...

    However, think of the popularity of a program that allows users to upgrade from HD (either digital or BD) to UHD (if available). I would be willing to spend $5/title for an upgrade like this, especially for the titles I watch frequently.

    Why do you think nothing like this has started yet?

    $5 would be too much. $2 is what it costs to do a Blu-ray D2D conversion and what it should cost to upgrade the resolution. If you have hundreds of movies, $5 would add up to way too much to upgrade them.

    Honestly, if you own a movie, you should just own the movie, period, and it should stream it in the best quality available. It's pretty silly in 2019 to even have different quality levels. Just like any streaming services that stream the best quality available for your device.

      I agree a plan to upgrade to a more moder resolution for a small fee would be nice. Specially when 4K movies digital codes only give HDX not UHD.

        I'd buy into a a "4$ for 4K" deal. I don't need all of my movies at 4K but there's no way I'd spend $19.99 to go from HD to UHD.

          I would also like to see this feature. Cheaper is always better but I don't see a issue with the upgrade for a HD to 4k/UHD being $5 as that is already the cost for the upgrade from SD to HD. Keep the Conversion Cost as $2. So if you already had the 4k then $2 for a Conversion would make sense and be in line with the Current Pricing.

          So it'd be like this.
          Conversion: SD to SD $2, HD to HD $2, & 4k/UHD to 4k/UHD $2.
          Upgrade: SD to HD $5, HD to 4k $5

          Now for Upgrade from SD to 4k maybe they could just tack on the Conversion price to the Upgrade price for a cost of $7. Otherwise it'd be $10 and I personally think that would be a bit to much. Maybe $3 for a total of $8 but any more than that and I think it'd feel like too much. At least when you start upgrading a lot of movies. Business wise it'd have to be more because they would be jumping two formats and if the price was the same no one would do the SD to HD as the 4k/UHD digital copies downgrade play to HD on none 4k/UHD devices.

          What ever they come up with though, I'd definitely be interested. Especially now that I have my 4k Projector.

          OH I almost forgot.

          It would be really great if they added 3D to the Conversion and Upgrade features of the Disc To Digital as well. Even though I prefer watching 3D via Disc as streaming just does not give the reliable level of quality do to current internet limitations in many areas, it'd still be a great feature to have. After all the Internet will eventually be able to be reliably on par to giving the level of quality that the disc give so it'd be nice to have them when that time comes.

          Also with the current issue of the Movie / Production Studios not supporting / selling 3D movies here in USA it would be a great way to help the 3D Community here have better access to the 3D versions of the movie. We could buy new movies like the HD or 4k versions then just Convert them to 3D. Also for those 3D movies we already do have on disc we could convert them to digital as the Digital Selection for 3D is actual quite slim at the moment. There are way more 3D movies on the market than what VUDU currently offers. It'd be nice to add the ones we can find on Disc to our Digital library.

          Pricing could be the same as current pricing. $2 for Conversion of 3D Bluray Disc to 3D Digital and $5 for Upgrades from Bluray to 3D. remember there are no 4k 3D movies yet, although that would be great if there were. :P So pricing should be treated just as if we were Converting or Upgrading a Bluray movie as it is a Bluray movie, although I know they would want to attach a Premium Price to it. But that Premium Pricing is one of if not the main reason as to why the 3D movie market was hurt so bad. So keeping the Price Affordable would make it desirable.

          Anyways... I would really like to see both 3D and 4k added to the Disc To Digital service. :;
