    More Wal-Mart Problems.

I currently tried to use the Wal-Mart Disc To Digital Service for the first time... needless to say my experience thus far has been lacking.

It took the girl at the counter a bit to get into the system, but I've read horror stories of Wal-Marts flat out denying they had the service at all, so I gave her kudos for trying.

The movies I brought in were:

The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Trilogy
    The Godfather Trilogy
    The Alien Quadrilogy
    Alien vs Predator
    Alien vs Predator: Requiem
    Kick-***
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
    Zombieland
    The Kingsmen

Of all those, only the Alien Quadrilogy was unable to be transferred, and she had no idea why. I read on here they didn't take compilations, but the LOTR and Godfather sets went through with no problem. A bit bummed by that, but I'm fine with having the other movies all work. I get charged $26 for the service. I was under the impression that over 10 would be half off, but I guessed that was online only, and sucked it up because it's still a good deal.

So I leave Wal-Mart, go get some chicken wings, sit down to enjoy some movies and lo and behold..... nothing. Not a single movie has transferred and it's been three hours since I left Wal-Mart. I call the store to ask if there's a wait time and when I can expect them. It takes me FIVE TRIES to get to the photo department, and sure enough, the guy there basically says in no uncertain terms, "I don't know. Call back tomorrow." *Click* That awesome Wal-Mart customer service.

So has anyone had THIS problem with the D2D program at Wal-Mart? And if anyone else has used it, is the process instantaneous or is there supposed to be a lengthy delay between the process and actually having it show up in your library?

I am very sorry for the pain of a bad WM experience. Unfortunately, there is a wide range of consistency in the skillsets of employees at using the D2D system and some glitchiness in the program itself. Have had more than a few times when they were unable to convert my movies and had to make repeat visits.

Having said that, once I actually paid for a conversion I have never had a delay in getting movies to appear in my account - usually the confirmation/receipt hits my email by the time I leave the store.

From your post, I am assuming that you went into the store with a just a group of movies to convert. I would strongly recommend that you use the VUDU option to build your own list before the next time you go to the store. Makes it much easier and quicker for the WM employees to process your order and a whole lot less likely that you don't get a movie because they could not find it in the system.

Hope it goes easier your next time!

That would concern me . . . I've done many Walmart D2D trips (although it's been a while since my last one), and from my experience the titles should appear in your account almost instantaneously.

Did you make up your list online before you went into the store???

        http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html

Always go to the above page first, make your list, print out your list and take the print out and the discs to the store. You can absolutlety D2D the Alien Quadrilogy because I've done it!

Yeah... no list, but I found out what the problem was... I have the word "panthers" in my e-mail address... the Wal-Mart employee wrote it down as "pantheers", so all the movies went into a separate account. Now I'm trying to go through the process of combining the accounts. It's now been a day and a half since that happened and nothing... How long does this process usually take?
