I don't think the decision to or not to buy 4K movies is based on the redemption code. 4K, HDR, DV, immersive audio, etc., all stand on their own. I don't buy any blurays now. 4K packs that include the bluray are not that more expensive then just the bluray. 4K players work fine with non 4K TV's and are not that expensive now either.

That was the original question yes? Trying to decide if you should buy BD or UHD disks?

Whether a UHD has 4k code is the decision point for me. Though in that case the issue is to buy UHD or not to buy the title at all, not whether to buy UHD vs. HD BR and with rare exception (a specific criterion title for example) I don't by BR unless it comes with HD code.

If the original question is "I'm gonna buy no matter the code quality, should I do UHD vs. BR if I don't have a set yet", then, if you know you will upgrade as some point and care about optimal image quality, I'd agree that the answer is to buy UHD. It is going to be more expensive to re-buy all the titles than pay a $5 or so premium now.
I don't have a UHD tv yet either (mainly waiting HDR aspects to mature) but I only buy UHD (when available). They all come with a BR at the moment so you are covered.
