Please remove 100 title per year restriction

Am I the only one that thinks the 100 titles per year limit is too low? I love the new mobile way of scanning the UPC code (when it works). Huge improvement over having to insert discs into my computer. Also, since I don't have a BD drive for my computer I had no way to convert any of the BD movies. Now I can. I have already hit the 100 title limit and still have a bunch more movies I'd like to convert. Many of them I have already tried through the VuduToGo app on my computer but they either could not be recognized or they matched to the wrong movie. I don't want to wait a year to be able to convert all the rest.

VUDU, can we please get this limit increased?!?!

Who else is with me? Please reply with your vote and maybe VUDU will listen.

    Thanks
    Scott

Re: Please remove 100 title per year restriction

I submitted a similar question, complaint to VUDU. Seven days later I finally got a response, which was basically to get over it. This is the way it is, the way its going to be for the foreseeable future. The same for the 50% off 10 or more as well. They only did that until they became the default movie streaming service/app. Now that Cinemanow and Flixster are out of their way, customers, us, will have to get to less service, less deals.

I agree that 100 is a low amount for those that have a bunch of discs, or those that haven't started converting yet. At one point I was certain the main page said 1000, but maybe I was mistaken or perhaps that is for the desktop application.

Agreed. I've purchased thousands of DVD's and BD's. By my last count I still had about 700 titles that are still pending conversion. Even if I don't buy any more catalog titles it would still take me 7 years to convert based on the 100 title limit.

Over 600+ and with this 100 limit, it's kinda crazy don't you think? Many people have over 100 titles. By Vudu putting a limit on how many we can convert from our collection in a year could possible push people away from converting their collection at all.

My guess is it was the studios, to limit Fraud IE borrowing discs, scanning at stores etc.....

If so, I don't see the point. You can share your movies with 6 people. What you don't get on your account, you could have a friend to do, so if one shared with 6 different people, then they would get 600 titles a year. Putting in this limit was beyond stupid and doesn't prevent anything.

I actually agree with the limit.

It took about 4 minutes after it was announced for people on other forums to figure out how to skirt the you can only scan discs you own at your home address rule. There has to be SOME way for Vudu and/or the studios to limit that damage while still giving customers a helpful product.

But why? As I said before, people can get up to 600 without any issue. And even after that, all they have to do is unshare their movies with that email, then add a new email, and bam, 100 more.

Yeah but sharing like that wouldn't enable you to add 600 movies into a single UV account, or would it?

Just to make sure everybody's on the same page - there is no 100 limit for the In Home D2D...

Yes. When you share your movies through Vudu, you share UV accounts. Once your friend has 100 in their UV account and decides they don't want to buy or convert anymore, they can merge their UV account into your account, and all their movies will transfer into your UV account forever. It's how UV works now, they delete the second account when merged and gives the main account holder all UV titles. So, 6 shares could equal 600, once you remove those 6 you can share with another 6, rinse and repeat.

I did 10 movies last night and none have transferred to my UV locker.
