cap of 100 discs that can be converted per account per year via mobile.

under the FAQ's there is this "We have also set a cap of 100 discs that can be converted per account per year via mobile."

does this mean after we hit the "100" mark, we can still use the Vudu2go app on the computer to convert discs?

Yep. So you are better off using mobile for unreadable discs and desktop for readable discs.

at any rate I'm glad I was able to convert 90%+ of my collection before the 50% promotion got taken away............ I know I convert more then 100 a year so this definitely make me feel a little better.... although it sucks I lost the cart that I had all my movies in that the app wouldn't read...

What is the logic behind the 100 title limit?

Because Vudu knows that people can scam this particular system without much effort. It doesn't really hurt their bottom line because it's very likely that the price for the conversion is actually a little bit more than they are paying the studio. When conversion was strictly by bringing discs to Walmart or converting via computer there was not really a need to have a limit because Walmart was too much trouble and cheap computers tend not to have blu drives.

But now that conversion can be done via something virtually everybody in the world has there has to be a limit to slow down the hoarders. Converting is now no longer something only techies are likely to do. It has entered the same realm of buying an iTunes song on impulse. So people who aren't hoarders will continue buying movies on sale just as they always have. And hoarders will rapidly blow through their hundred conversions (probably picking up a lot of movies they don't really want along the way) and then the rest of the year buy movies on sale just like everybody else.

OK...that makes sense. Personally speaking I never minded taking the discs that my laptops Blu-Ray couldn't read to Wal-Mart, it was pretty painless. The clerk checked the discs against the list and it worked just fine. I wish that VUDU hadn't canceled the In-Store experience

Yeah. So far I have been able to add quite a few through Mobile that were never fixed on the desktop app.

While I understand the 100 limit, I find it frustrating. I don't have a Blu-ray drive on my computer and my two walmarts were useless when it came to converting discs. I just reached my 100 limit and have to wait a year to convert more blu-rays.

Even if they had a clue, Walmart doesn't convert discs anymore, since the UPC scanning launched. None of the ones here had a clue what Vudu was, even with the sign hanging above their head.
