Marvel Cinematic Universe Disc to Digital question.

    Hello everyone,

First off, I imagine this question has been asked multiple times, so I am sorry for asking again, but I was wondering why other than "The Incredible Hulk" none of the other MCU blurays can be added to my Vudu collection? If I want to add them to my collection am I going to have to pay the $20 price on Vudu, opposed to using my own bluray and spending the $2?

    Thank you.

The Incredible Hulk is from Universal Studios. It can be added by Ultraviolet.
The rest of the MCU is from Disney. They are added by Disney Movies Anywhere. Disney doesn't do Disc 2 Digital.

They were all on sale for $15 on Vudu until recently, so I picked up the one I didn't have.

You'd think Disney would re-release some of the early ones since they're hard to find on Blu-ray, and those would carry codes. That would hurt a little less since some people have the early ones on DVD and would also get the upgraded format.

...or maybe there are 4k versions in the works. I have to imagine they're popular enough for that treatment.

At one point very early on before Disney was involved captain America, Thor and the first 2 iron man movies were disc to digital (in store only at that point). They were only available for a few months before they were removed. We did get to keep them in our UV libraries though and my friend who is one of my UV sub-accounts had them added to his Disney Movies Anywhere account when he linked his vudu account.

There's an Iron Man trilogy 4K Blu-ray set that has been released over in Europe. I would imagine it'll make it stateside at some point.

Maybe, maybe not. Disney doesn't have anything to do with the Iron Man 4K releases in Germany since the distribution rights are owned by another studio there.

Yes, I bought it and the 4k on these titles are great IMO.

Well, I am even more disappointed today, I bought a $20 gift card to add more movies to my Vudu collection, and I planned to add my "Halloween" boxset, but damn it I get home and there are no barcodes on the bluray cases. Just my luck, I guess I should have checked them before getting the card. Haha. Ah well, I'll add some other movies instead, maybe my Kevin Smith films.

"Halloween" wouldn't be eligible either, barcode or not (if you're talking about the original).

Remember, only movies from studios that participate in UV can be transferred via any D2D service.

Yeah, I was referring to the original(s), and thank you for the information, I'm learning.
