Woooo! The Karate Kid just went HDX!

Just noticed this when I looked at my library. After what seems like forever, The Karate Kid (1984) is now in HDX.

    Now, about Police Academy 4...

That explains it! I was wondering why The Karate Kid went to the top of my list yesterday. That must be the reason.

Now I'm waiting for Eraser, The Lookout and Wild Things to go HDX.

    713 HDX

After reading this, I excitedly went to D2D it. However, Vudu-to-Go now says that The Karate Kid is not eligible for D2D conversion. I know for a fact that it used to be, because when I tried only a few months ago it was available in SD-only. I held off waiting for this moment, and now it's no longer eligible? What's going on here?

Wow, real nice, according to the disc to digital list the Blu-ray version has been removed from the list although the DVD is still listed.

I was converting from the blu-ray (both in the past and today).

It's extremely frustrating when all of a sudden the Vudu-to-Go app, which used to identify this very disc and allow conversion to SD, says that it's not available for D2D conversion at all. I hope its eligibility wasn't pulled so that they could incorporate Digital HD into future copies of the movie to be sold in stores, eliminating D2D from the picture so that it wouldn't be out there as a cheaper alternative. I'm certainly not buying it again just to pick up a digital copy. I can't think of any other good reasons why a change like this would suddenly occur. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch that will be fixed, but I'm doubtful.

I think it's just that the d2d database sucks. Blu rays where no blu rays exist and no BD option where they do exist. Things disappearing. Other things there but the d2d software says they are not eligible when they are. It's just a messy database in my opinion.

That must be it, I converted mine on Vudu but if it's available from Vudu in HDX, mine should upgrade automatically. When I look up the movie, it's indicating that it's still only available in SD or HD and not HDX.

For me, mine was converted through vudu by a family member. That account did not upgrade, the other accounts linked by UV did upgrade. Also the web shows now available in HDX on a PC.
