    Please add!!!

So I really wanted to add some movies to my Vudu account. Real Steel with Hugh Jackman. I purchased it at Garage sale with the intention of uploading it only to find out its not available for D2D. I understand that because its a "Disney-DreamWorks" title that Vudu doesnt have the rights to do a D2D but I do show that I could buy it outright on the website. I already have the DVD and i would prefer to just get it uploaded. I also attempted a trip to Walmart and the lady there told me its on the "red-list."

This movie came out in 2011 so can anyone help me out here? I know that other Disney moves can be uploaded. I normally goto Walmart cause its easier.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Tom

    Re: Please add!!!

Disney titles (and affiliated studios) are not eligible for the disc-to-digital program.

dream works is an oddball the older titles were not distributed by Touchstone/Disney so they are UV enabled and some are d2d but the newer ones are distributed by Disney so they are not d2d some have had codes like Need for Speed but others do not

I wouldn't hold your breath. I don't think there's an ETA for something that's probably not going to happen. Just being realistic.

The difference in what you plan to pay for the D2D and what it would cost you to buy it on Vudu is the exact reason some studios will offer their titles for sale digitally but not D2D. Vudu does have the files, sure, but the studio won't authorize D2D because they think you'd be getting it too cheaply. Some studios that support D2D in general can't do it for specific titles because of legal barriers.

Thank you all for your responses. I really wish all the "red tape" would be removed to allow consumers to watch videos. In any event, I probably will just purchase the SD copy from the Vudu website and eat the cost of the DVD I purchased.

              Thanks all

Thanks for the response man. I understand what your saying, but isn't that kinda crappy of the studios for a movie that was released in 2011? I mean really? And if that really is the case, which I am sure it is, why not charge more? I am sure people would still do it. Like $5?

Right!, I was able to find one on amazon that supposedly includes a UV code. Though I don't want to spend the $20 on a movie I already have just to get a UV code. That's why I love the D2D service because I can upload a movie I have and save myself from having to buy it again with a code. Quite honestly I would even probably pay more than the $2 they currently offer.

In any event, I just hope my thread gets seen by some big wig and they decide to enable more movies or in this case the "oddball" ones.

Remember, we're talking about Disney, who made up a "vault" to create a false scarcity out of nowhere, just so they could keep hyping their back catalog without lowering the prices.

Just a heads up, but the version of Real Steel that includes a digital copy is not UV or DMA. If you buy it, you will get an iTunes only standard def (not HD) digital copy.

You may as well use the money to buy it directly on vudu
