Default First Order - 6 DVD's to HDX

Redundant work at my store. I printed my list from home but still had to hand write the entire list again in the store. Seems like a customer without a home printed list would need to do this.

On Vudu Disc To Digital "My Movie List" it says "For faster service, print this list". They gave my home printed list back to me.

They obviously did not know what they were doing. They are supposed to look up your account and match the list you made online (which will match the list you printed if you didn't change it) with the discs you brought in.

Most titles look really good. There were a couple that look questionable on their quality, but I got out my blu-ray disc of the same movie and compared. The blu-ray disc wasn't any better. Most of the time the picture quality is not as sharp as I think it should be and tends to be soft. Or the colors of the skin tones are off. Either way, If the blu-ray has issues, it only likely that the Vudu HDX version will suffer as well. The studios only pay for one film to digital conversion and use that newly created digital version as the new master for a future created products.

Sixteen Candles on HDX really impressed me. Since that movie is not yet on blu-ray and my only way of watching it was on DVD, it was blown away by the detail of picture quality. You can actually see the true textured of the hideous wallpaper in the house and Molly Ringwald's freckles. That detail was not available in the DVD.

I took another couple batches in this weekend. Today the employee who helped me said they had made a copy of one of my previous lists that I had printed from the Vudu website to use for training purposes so she recognized my account right away. I've gone in about 6 times now. I probably converted about 100 to 125. Mostly HDX, but a couple that were only SD.

I took 28 to the store. All titles were checked and added to my list and all dvd's were legal retail copies, with matching box photos etc. The nice person at Walmart said he was not able to convert 24 of the titles. He also several of the titles I wanted to convert were already in my account, which they are not. For example I took Mummy 1, 2 and 3. 2 & 3 converted, 1 would not. I've opened a support request.

This was the 5th Walmart I visited as the first 4 were not trained or did not have the software.

So far, I have spent ~5 hours to get 4 movies converted. I love Vudu but the disc to conversion is a big mess IMHO.

True, the Walmart staff is not well trained.

However, you also need to do your part.

Always go to your VUDU account first and check to see if the DVD can be converted. Using VUDU's website, add each available DVD to the list. Then print the list and take it to Walmart.

Walmart staff will call up your account online and the movies that you requested earlier will be listed online. They may or may not make a hand copy of list to their form and they will check your DVD's

This saves everyone time and trouble.

If it is on your printed list from VUDU and you own that DVD then they will convert with no questions asked.

The Mummy is available for Disc to Digital conversion. Was the Walmart associate unable to find the movie, or did you pay but it never transferred to your account?

    Please disregard my earlier post.

    I misread your second sentence.

You did make a list before going to Walmart.

    Sorry!

    Just trying to help.

So are most of you guys converting DVDs to HDX? I was questioning the point of converting The Wedding Planner to HDX even Meet the Parents. So my point is, i have all my dads set to do HDX that offer it but i'm considering dropping the non action movies to SD. Does anyone know if SD movies have 5.1 audio?
