Yes, it's better than DVD. Not quite blu ray quality, but much better unless it's a bad encode (which there seem to be a few). No, you can't upgrade later so upgrade to the quality you prefer the first time. The only possible way to get HDX later would be to remove the wal mart stamp and take the DVD back to wal mart and pay the full price to get an HDX copy.

Re: How many DVD's did you upgrade/convert?

Can I take in just the disc - or do I need to take the case in with the cover etc as well?

Hopefully you can just take the disc...so much saved space.

You can just take in the discs.

And I counted 1100 transfers from all the people in this thread. That's amazing.

I've converted 25 (7 DVD and 18 Blu-ray) and bought 4. I haven't had any real problems with Walmart other then them entering my email address wrong. I have a j that looks like an i.

I have 130, most Wal-Marts techs don't know how to do it...

Would have a few more but I held off on movies such as We Were Soliders and Fight Club that were only available in SD...

Currently 217 with more in the works - next batch will add approximately 80 more titles. When I show up at my local WalMart I do believe that they are all diving under counters and the last man standing losses. It appears that I have assisted in the training of 2 of their associates in this process, chuckle, patience does have its rewards.

maybe we should start a thread of "how many walmart employees did you train" I trained 3 at two stores.
