    Ridiculous articles!

Journalists seem to hate on UV very easily because they simply don't understand it.

    http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-U...hem-34320.html

It's very sad . I will admit that it's not most user friendly system to setup at first. However, I think UV needs a better way to educate these morons and the general public! I would think most people online complaining about it would be more tech savvy, just for the sake of them being online. However, I believe I'm clearly wrong when it comes to that...

Also the comments on these articles are just as ridiculous at times!

I could not agree with you more. Ultraviolet is an awesome technology and us computer enthusiast of course take the time to figure it out and understand it, but come people it is not that hard lol. I like it way better than I like iTunes. I think what is bad is that there have been so many roll outs of UV that have gone wrong like Flixster sorry if I offend anyone but it is a POS then we have all the problems with CinemaNow which is not helping UV's image at all with all the problems they are having. Luckly we have Vudu.

      Re: Ridiculous articles!

The closest thing we have to a universal content source is iTunes, where many many movies are available for purchase or rental, and where you're probably already keeping your music anyway.
Lol, if you call placing in a digital copy into the computer, letting it load up, entering the code to redownload it again, waiting for it to transfer, then finally realizing that it won't sync up with one of your devices "universal". So then you delete it, and realize you want to watch it on Friday, so you have to repeat the whole shabang over again....

I gave up. I have Handbrake on my computer and can easily transfer the DVD file into my iTunes, easy to access and mine forever. The Blu-ray is more complicated, since I don't have a computer drive that can read Blu-rays
Way to promote that you like to pirate movies. You do know if you sell that movie or "lose" it, you technically cannot legally watch the digital copy again? Karma can be a b****.

Until major studios demand changes in Ultraviolet or move away from it, streaming and VOD will continue to hammer away at the DVDs and Blu-rays they're trying to save.
Again, ripping movies is a pain in the ***. One little scratch on it and BAM, that disc is garbage. D2D, lol, just bring it to walmart and you will get a playable copy for $2 (and you will own it forever). Just redownload it again, because that is basically what you are saying that you like... to have absolutely no HDD space. LOL, Vudu even allows HDX downloading now, so your DVD rips look like s*** compared to my $2 Thor, Captain America, Iron Man 1/2, etc!

      /end rant

            Re: Ridiculous articles!

I have a friend who won't listen to me when it comes to Ultraviolet. He prefers the digital copies he can unlock through iTunes because he can get a physical file that he can back up to an external hard drive.

And I keep trying to explain to him that he can do the same thing with Ultraviolet but also stream the movies using Vudu, etc. Oh, well... He's going to be really unhappy if his external hard drive takes a dump on him.

                Re: Ridiculous articles!

I find these discussions about how difficult UV is to set up absolutely hilarious. I didn't find it all that hard at all when I first got started. As a matter of fact, I was very excited that I pretty much got 3 free movies right off the bat. People just tend to blindly follow any technology Apple puts out there, and think it's the gold standard, without considering for a moment that there may be something better out there. If anything, I think the Apple technology is very limiting, much moreso than UV. Just like the other poster said though, people just don't listen to reason or take five minutes to do their own research. Sad...

                  Re: Ridiculous articles!

the writer of this article is a miserable douche, he complains about not having a BD drive and cannot afford a computer with a browser that won't freeze, yet has the unmitigated gaul to slam UV bc it takes 3 minutes to set up.

Still a bit outdated, though, as Flixster and Vudu have fixed a lot of the stuff mentioned in the past three months since it was written.

Very true, but I think it's one of the few things I've found online from a website that is positive about UV.

He won't loose the movies because Apple keeps his rights in icloud and he can download again for free.

But he will lose a lot of time trying to redownload a whole movie again just to watch it. Say I want to watch Batman, I turn on the system, and it crashed without my knowing and nothing is on it. Heh, the only way I can watch it is by downloading it, YAY, I am now not able to watch Batman for another 4 hours (in my case).

With Vudu: Press play button, enjoy.

                            Simple, fast, effective

I have an Apple TV 2nd generation but I am tired of them suing everyone for a patent that they shouldn't have been given. So when I buy a Universal Studio movie I choose to redeem it on Vudu and Amazon Instant Video. Also if I buy a single tv show I buy on Amazon Instant Video. I would add my Discover card via secure one merchant use card number but Vudu doesn't accept Discover yet they are owned by Wal-mart that has Discover card themselves.
