I've done 20 to 30 on my Mac running mountain lion. The Mac version works fine.

I'm running Snow Leopard. It's either a problem with the software (which could be specific to certain versions of OSX), or the dozen titles I've tried on their list all happen to have been withdrawn since 12/19, which is possible, but doesn't seem as likely to me. But it's good to know that the OSX version is working for some people.

I've had 4 titles that were on the list not work. The 2nd and 3rd Bourne movies, justice league doom and the Skin I Live In.

Re: CinemaNow and Rovi launch beta at home D2D service

Have attempted 9 so far - with varying results. Requested and paid for the conversion of City Slickers - The Legend of Curly's Gold & Mean Streets to HD - got SD, which reflects in all services Ultra Violet, VUDU & CinemaNow as SD. City Slickers & Mean Streets are available in HD through both VUDU & CinemaNow, so submitted a ticket to have CinemaNow fix the issue or refund.

Others converted to HD; Guarding Tess, Driving Miss Daisy, Bugsy & My Fellow Americans, they are confirmed HD in Ultra Violet, VUDU & CinemaNow.

The remaining 3 were only available in SD only, through VUDU & CinemaNow, no matter, just wanted to see if it worked.

Am reluctant to upload and convert further, since paying $5.00 for HD and receiving SD is annoying. Would rather go to Walmart and train some more associates in the fine art of D2D.

Re: CinemaNow and Rovi launch beta at home D2D service

Here's something kind of odd. On my Mac I tried converting the second 2 Bourne movies and I would always get the message that the disc was not available to convert. I tried on 2 different drives (the built in and an external) and would get the same message. I tried on my Windows laptop and they both converted to HD fine. So now the only 2 movies I could not covert that I should have been able to are Justice League Doom and The Skin I Live In.

Re: CinemaNow and Rovi launch beta at home D2D service

OK, time to chime in. The service, as it says, is in Beta. Your feedback will serve to make it a more solid offering. I'm here to help. Flame and I will not answer:

                - Buying HD and getting SD - obviously a bug. The wrong token has been placed in the UV locker. This will be rectified and you will get what you paid for or will get refunded. In the meantime, someone here suggested that you look on the CinemaNow website to see if the title you want to redeem is being sold in HD. That will be a good, but not 100% foolproof way. Either way, you will get your HD or will get a refund, but it will take some time to sort the issue out.

                - 25 title limit - this isn't actually a D2D limit. It is fraud protection limit that is in place on the site to prevent credit card fraud. It has been there for yearsto protect you from people abusing your credit card, and seemed like a safe limit when it was implemented (because who would do 25 movie transactions in a short time frame) and unfortunately the limit is well, limiting for D2D. Working on it.

                - Titles not being available when the list says they are - that's a database error. Hopefully resolved in the next few weeks.

                - Titles available on one platform (PC) and not another (Mac) - different implementations of disc authentication and identification. No time frame yet for how long that will take to fix.

                - Titles showing up as burned copies - looking into it. Could be Snow Leopard is not fully supported. In other cases, it could be certain nuances to the way those discs were authored.

                - Titles not listed as available for Disc To Digital conversion - what do you want to see?

                - Guys offering cheap CinemaNow gift codes on this Forum and elsewhere - If you buy these, you are stealing. You might as well just go illegally rip your titles (though that doesn't get you UV copies). The service is an inexpensive, legal solution for converting your old catalog DVD titles to UV copies (and upgrading them to HD). Please don't abuse it.

Re: CinemaNow and Rovi launch beta at home D2D service

I've had decent results so far.

Tried about 12 movies, though only 5 of them worked. All that worked were converted as SD and are now visible on UV, Vudu, and Flixster in addition to CinemaNow.

                    Converted movies-

                    Annie (1982)
                    Disclosure
                    King Kong (Peter Jackson)
                    Ray
                    Vantage Point

Most movies that didn't work were understandable as they were not on the D2D list at Vudu either.

One movie, The Holiday, was a bit more of a problem as CinemaNow / Rovi wouldn't even recognize that there was a disc in the drive. That tells me it couldn't evaluate whether it was eligible for D2D or not, but I'm not sure how to fix that besides trying it on another machine.

So, you work for CinemaNow/BestBuy? Are you here answering questions as a representative of the company, or are you doing this on your own time, unofficially?

Thanks, I was going to try exactly this because I had my suspicions after the number of failures I had on my MacBook. Now that I'm home I may be able to try D2D with the same discs that failed on a Windows PC.

My mom gave me a bunch of movies to add and four of them were the same. No go on the Mac but worked on my windows laptop. I guess that's all part of the beta process.

C'Mon CinemaNow! I redeemed UV code for Paranorman on Dec 25th. It's fine on VUDU but CN has added the title to my library 7 times. 7 copies show in my Library online and 7 copies show on 2 LG Devices with CN app. Jeez!

This happens regularly with me as well. I found that refreshing the library normally fixes it. Refresh as in close and reopen not unlink.

Correct, library duplicates are have been common with viewing library on internet since CN went UV. Refresh page works. However, even with internet library dups I never had duplicates on my LG CN devices and I have 7 copies of Paranorman in 2 of my LG CinemaNow devices and you cant refresh that.
