Blade Runner UV not in vudu?

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had this issue. I recently purchased the 30th anniversary edition of Blade Runner and it came with a UV copy. I followed the instructions on the slip of paper and had to go through flixster to activate it. I have done that in the past before with other titles and they have always shown up in my vudu account. However, Blade Runner is not doing that. It is showing up on flixster and the ultraviolet website, but not here. My Roku and other devices support vudu not flixster. Am I out of luck or can something be done?

    Thanks!

Two possibilities: first, there is an ALID (an asset ID that UV partners use) mixup, in which case you will need to get Flixster to correct it; second, the version you bought is a different version than the two versions that Vudu currently has the rights to. If it's the second case, you may just be out of luck.

In my experience with this movie, it is the latter. Flixster has a special edition of the final cut, that we do not currently offer.

Yes, there are several different verisons of the movie Blade Runner, but THE FINAL CUT is the only version we are talking about here.

I purchased THE FINAL CUT and registered the uv code. It appears on FLixter, and in my UV collection, but not on Vudu.

Vudu DOES have THE FINAL CUT available:
        http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...-The-Final-Cut

I don't know what the compatibility issue is, but it is something that needs to be fixed. Having the UV copy GREATLY influenced my decision to buy this blu ray, because it is supposed to play on Flixter AND Vudu. I have MANY others movies that do.

The fact that this IS NOT WORKING, and your lackadaisical response will greatly influence my decision in the future, and I will not put much stock in a blu ray that comes with a UV copy. Lesson learned.

My apologies that you feel I was being lackadaisical in my response, I was not intending to be. The problem is, Flixster has a special edition of the Final Cut. This content carries a different ALID that is studio provided. We don't have that exact version, so it won't be able to import over to your VUDU account.

These versions are treated as separate titles:

If you check your UV account, you'll see the following:
[Blade Runner: The Final Cut Special Edition]
This is only available on Flixster

As you pointed out, we have the Final Cut:

The one Wal-Mart sold about 2 months ago had a uv code in it. I redeemed that code and I got the one that is supported by Vudu. It shows up on here etc.

Re: Blade Runner UV not in vudu?

You may not be entirely out of luck. You can disk to digital the movie for 2.00 at Wal-Mart. You will get the final cut that is available here. Then if the special one becomes available you will get that one too. There is movies vudu does not have and tv shows vudu does not have. However, in your case you do have the option to fix it for 2.00 tv shows still don't have that option.

Your lucky that you didn't start redeeming codes in the beginning when just about every code was a guess on what format you got and most warner brother movies from Blu-ray came as SD. Then in November newer people redeemed the same codes and got HD. Warner brother doesn't allow more then 1 code to be redeemed of the same movie so you can't fix the account without merging a new account. I believe we both had the same code but even thou it said flixster I redeemed mine on vudu anyways and it worked and I got the final cut version that is offered here. Have you tried redeeming the code here? Mine only had 2 disks instead of 3.

Re: Blade Runner UV not in vudu?

Does Vudu play UV movies? Yes.

Did the copy of Blade Runner that I purchased have a UV code? Yes.

                Is it on Vudu? No.

                Should it be? Yes.

I am a big Blade Runner fan. I own the other versions of Blade Runner released on DVD and blu ray. None of them came with a UV code. This is the first release that had a UV code. Having to pay additional money defeats the purpose of having a UV code.

I just expected Vudu to play all movies with a UV code.

Re: Blade Runner UV not in vudu?

My solution, go to Wally World, pay $2 to have both the extended & final cut uploaded to VUDU since they are D2D compatible. $4 & they are in VUDU.

What VUDU is telling you is reasonable, some of the UV offerings are not compatible with VUDU, they are with UV, so they are UV. VUDU is not an Ultraviolet property, i.e. owned by the studios.

I do not believe that anyone lied or mislead you, the item that you purchased is in your UV locker & apparently in your Flixster locker. Only if the sheet that had the code on it confirmed & represented that it was also VUDU compatible would there be a reasonable complaint. JMHO

I had this same issue, but it finally showed up in my account today! Only took about 3+ months for that to happen though. I had opened a support ticket in regards to this.

Re: Blade Runner UV not in vudu?

I have finally resolved this issue.

                      The problem was with Flixster.

I added this code to my UV account through Flixster, as I have done for many other movies. Once they are in my UV account, they show up on VUDU and other UV streaming providers. The reason this one didn't work, is because Flixster labeled the movie as Blade Runner Final Cut Special Edition. Well, no such movie exists. There is only Blade Runner Final Cut.

I went to Flixster's live chat customer support, and they fixed it very quickly by simply adding Blade Runner Final Cut to my account. Now it shows up everywhere it should.

I hope this information can assist anyone else having the same problem.
