When Disney movies go "In The Vault" will I lose the HDX file from my collection?

As we all know, Disney releases some of its classic movies for a limited time, then the feature goes back "in the Disney vault" for a period of many years.

Let's say I purchase The Lion King, for example, in HDX format. A few months later Disney puts The Lion King back in the vault. No more blu-rays or DVDs will be sold until Disney brings the movie out of the vault and re-releases it. It could be several years -- perhaps a decade -- later.

    My question is this:
If I purchase the HDX file of The Lion King and Disney puts the movie in the vault, will The Lion King be removed from my Vudu Collection?

This is a valid concern because Disney movies like The Lion King are currently priced at $22.99 for an HDX file. I don't want to pay that price only to find out I can lose the movie from my library if Disney pulls it out of release (and puts it in the vault).

Perhaps one of our mod friends (Daniel H or Jake) can comment on this scenario.

No, it's just like buying a DVD. Once you buy it, Disney can't take it back from you. It just means you can't buy it in a store anymore. But you can still buy a DVD from e-bay if someone is selling their personal copy. Same concept with a Digital Copy. You still own it, but no one else will be able to buy it once it is in the vault.

What they neglect to state is that searching for movies vudu no longer owns is not possible. You can still navigate your collection but this is painful when you have a lot.

Wow, was this thread created after the last round of the Lion King? I just purchased the Signature Collection version. (And for some reason it came with two version of the movie that appear to be exactly the same, aside from the lack of bonus features in one.)

Related to this discussion I guess, if I find and purchase on ebay or other place a new, still in shrink-wrap Disney Diamond Edition movie that's "in the Vault" can I still redeem the code and get a digital copy?

I see no redeem button there.

I usually redeem my Disney codes at Disney movie rewards website, then they propogate to Disney Movies Anywhere and all the other linked services (Vudu, iTunes, MS, etc).

There hasn't been an edition of Lady and the Tramp that came with a digital copy, so you wouldn't see a "redeem" button there even if it wasn't back in the vault.

                  There most certainly has:

                  https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lady-an...?skuId=4635826

It is out-of-print & very rare. I've seen these digital codes sell for upwards of $40 online.
