ALERT: Very bad HDX encode: The Core

I watched The Core (HDX) and I wanted to ALERT anyone who is considering getting this movie about a serious problem with the HDX encode.

Throughout the ENTIRE presentation there is a visible noise artifact that appears from the beginning of the film to the end. It's like a continuous "strobing" macro-block pattern that covers MOST of the viewing area of the movie.

It's most visible in darker scenes as it appears to be grayish in color tone.

During very bright scenes, the pattern is somewhat "lost" in the luminescence (day time outside shots and when the brightness of the Earth's magma interior fills the screen).

Although very annoying and distracting, I watched the entire HDX movie. The Core really needs to be re-encoded so that the compression macro-blocking strobing pattern does not appear in the HDX file. It ruins the enjoyment of this admittedly farfetched, yet entertaining, science fiction movie.

I did check the HD version of the streaming file for The Core. It does NOT contain the constant strobing macro-block pattern as seen in the HDX file.

I'll review the film and file it for re-encode if i see the same.

Well, it's over a year later and the encoding is still awful with the same static as before throughout the entire HDX version.

I sent them an email about it and they said 'we'll get right on it', then they replied back about a week later and asked if it looked any better yet? No, hasn't changed, still looks bad on multiple devices. And that was the end of it. They closed the ticket. Thanks!

Just a heads up, you get the same problem with the hdx version on The Italian Job.

Never mind, I see the issue now. HDX is worse than HD. I'll escalate this up to content again.
