    UltraViolet? ready
UltraViolet is an exciting new service that lets you purchase, store and download content from the cloud. Register or sign into your UltraViolet account, view collection and download content, all from within PowerDVD.

PowerDVD UltraViolet features will be provided as a free update to PowerDVD 13 Ultra users based on the availability of necessary online services DECE has announced.
There isn't exactly an exact date of when those features will be enabled. But I believe this is great news to show that UV is growing and more companies are supporting it. I'm definitely excited for the possibilities, even though I don't build HTPC's anymore....

    Any thoughts on this....?

Sounds like it will work with CFF to me and they are just waiting for it to be released which is good news.

Yes, this is great news for UV fans! This is the first non-proprietary program that I have heard of that will support UV, other than Kaleidoscope, which isn't exactly mainstream. I will probably get this program, because I don't really like Vudu To Go all that much. It's not as robust and full featured as PowerDVD.

I considered upgrading to PowerDVD 13 Pro yesterday from PowerDVD 12 Pro until I found out that 3D on blu-ray is only supported on the Ultra edition when it used to be supported on the Pro edition. 3D on blu-ray works now with my 12 Pro edition but won't work if I upgrade to 13 Pro. What the ****? Decided to stay on Pro 12.

The price they offered me was too good to pass up. $44.95 for PowerDVD 13 Ultra (upgrade from PowerDVD 11/12 Ultra).

Re: PowerDVD 13 Ultra is going to support Ultraviolet!

I don't want to browse my UV collection from some terrible built in interface -- that is really no better than the existing closed systems we're stuck with now. We need to be able to launch playback of UV titles from proper media center interfaces (WMC, My Movies, XBMC, J River Media Center, etc.), even if that means actual playback is handed off to PowerDVD, TMT, etc. It is not a good experience if I can't have all of my movies in one place.

I agree with most of that, but PowerDVD has a great interface and many people use it as their media center. It now has a library interface similar to other programs. But I do agree we need other's to Join. I would inlclude Plex in this list.

The point is I don't want be locked into to only using their library. If I need to use their app to download and play it, that is fine, as long as their is an option to use an external interface to send a playback command. You can do this already for certain disc and file types, but it remains to be seen if UV would be included. If not, it's a no sale for me.

Re: PowerDVD 13 Ultra is going to support Ultraviolet!

I will have to buy the full version because i didnt like having to install Pdvd9 in order to install pdvd10 upgrade.

I am one of the people who solely use a HTPC for all media. So if the PDVD13 UV integrates into the PDVD Media Center add-in then this would be a HUGE + but if i have to open the app and use my mouse/kb instead of my remote then i'll just stick with what i got and use Vudu on PS3.

PowerDVD is definitely proprietary software it's just third-party software.

By non-proprietary, I mean that it will play common file formats, like DVD, AVI, MKV, ect. You don't have to install codec pacs to get it work, like with other programs.

Nice! Tho don't really want to spend the extra $80 or so on the software.
