You can install the current version 12.5.0.1066. I tested that version and it has no issue with our D2D software.

So it definitely sounds like a 11.6.0.1030 issue and the issue was introduced somewhere after 10.6.0.1002 and at least fixed by 12.5.0.1066.

I downloaded the file, but couldn't find an installer in the package. So how do you upgrade? If I even have it, which I don't know if I do.

Download the third option, SetupRST, to get the installer. The other two are just driver files which can be installed manually.

You can look at your installed programs to see if you have it installed. Look under Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features. It will be listed as Intel Rapid Storage Technology.

In my case the computer drive controller was setup in RAID mode. Changing the controller setting to AHCI now allows my system to convert DVDs again. If any other users have the same settings this may fix the issue. However doing this windows will not load without a re-install. I discovered this resolution last night but spent the day verifying I could reproduce the error and correct it with changing that setting. I have been able to verify it for this system. Dell XPS 7100, Windows 8 Pro 64Bit, LG BH08LS20 Blu-ray Writer.
                BlurayFan,

Do you have Intel Rapid Storage Technology installed? If so what is the version? I wonder if this problem can be fixed on your machine just by upgrading IRST to the current version 12.5.0.1066.

I didn't even know I had RST, because it didn't show up in control panel. but once I installed it, it fixed my problem. But now I've run out of DVD's to add.

This did not work for me. I have an AMD processor; and trying to install this patch just tells me that it's not made for my machine.

I had the same problem when trying to D2D my DVD collection. I was able to resolve this problem by using an external player. The one I got is the "Blu-Ray Player External USB DVD RW Laptop Burner Drive" from Amazon.

Here is the link for it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Using this player I've been able to get the DVDs I've tried so far to convert.

That's the one I have that I mentioned in another thread! I'm quite happy with it...but I only find it useful for Blu-rays. I have tried every DVD that didn't work in both the built-in DVD drive and this external Blu-ray drive, but I've never had it make any difference -- every DVD that has failed in one drive has failed in the other.
