    I noticed that it has the UV symbol in the Vudu app on Roku, but no UV logo on the web

        The same thing happened with Shrek 2. It was UV on the PS3 app, but not on the web when it was still in the coming soon phase. Once it was available for purchase it showed up as UV on the web also.

            Still only SD, from the "Coming Soon" info.

            I own the Bluray Disc version. I would never justify a downgrade of it. HDX is a prerequisite for me on this one before I would make a move.

            Still it is exciting to finally see activity on this title.

            Considering it is directed by Roland Emmerich, was very well received, and spawned two TV series, I am surprised this took as long as it did to make it into DECE.

            Hopefully too, the kind hearted folks at Vudu will add an HDX version to put this matter to rest.

              Offically back.

              This time with a UV logo.

              Still only SD. My Bluray Disc version is the extended cut. I am still going to sit on it to see if an HDX version and extended cut get added.

              There are some cool extra scenes in the extended cut.

              On a side note, X-Men 2 also has a UV logo now.

                Re: Stargate removed?

                Well, at least progress has been made. I will be waiting for HDX too, along with a host of others. It's too bad that the licensing of the older movies is apparently so complicated. I currently have 46 movies in my wishlist that are either not HDX or for rent only. I have another 62 movies I'm waiting on that are not on Vudu at all. Sigh........frustrating, but I am thankful for all those that I do have on vudu. I love this digital movie stuff!

                    ...maddening really

                    To think. Roland Emmerich as director. Two A list actors as stars. Plus, it spawned two T.V. series (SG-1 & Atlantis)

                    Vudu = SD Only.

                    Really?

                    If there is a better case to be made for a movie which should be in HDX plus have the extended addition available, I do not know of one.

                      Was Stargate Universe so bad you've blocked it from your memory?

                        Yes. Not available on Vudu, so not in my WishList.

                        Ark of Truth and Continuum are though.

                        The original movie really became a franchise. Not as popular as the Star Trek brand, but still not insignificant.

                          So i was watching stargate on netflix last night it was sd...But still looked great, i was about 40 mins into it. Then i remember it was added on vudu to buy. So i looked at price $6.99 ok cool and bought it. Dude my 700 plus movies this has to be the worst looking film on vudu. I was so bummed out, it was vhs quality at best. I haven't complained about anything but yikesss i feel ripped off for $7.00 why would the netflix sd look so different then this sd?

                            I had something similar happen with Real Genius (before it had an HDX option). The SD copy was almost unwatchable. I contacted vudu and they refunded my money and removed it from my library. I added it later when HDX was available.

                              Thx for the heads up and sorry for your experience. You may wish to seek a refund and wait for HDX as madmod20061 suggests.

                              If you want a deal on a good movie;

                              http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content/143773/1408

                              It is called 1408. It has John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, written by Steven King.

                              Cost is seven for SD and eight for HDX. It also has a tomato rating of 78%.

                              Before I bought it, I spent several cycles trying to figure out what was wrong with it that it cost so little.

                              I could find nothing and included it in my last big EST purchase. It is, in fact, a really good film. I like both actors, although John Cusack has some off screen behavior I am not too fond of. Regardless, it is a very well done movie all around and a great deal.

                              It again baffles me that Stargate is not a more marquee title in the Vudu library. I know Lionsgate has a digitally remastered version. I own the Bluray Disc. It is sitting on the bookshelf behind me. Go figure...
