Not all movies are D2D eligible, including this one. Newer movies typically don't read at home and have to be brought to a Walmart (if you can find one that does D2D).

Except when your Wal-mart store is run by complete and total idiots that have no clue HOW to do the conversions or if it just no longer provides the d2d conversion at all. Then you are SOL! Like me. I've contacted the store about it as well as Vudu and both basically said there hands are tied. So there is no solution for me unless I drive an insane distance just to do it, it's all BS as far as I'm concerned.

My local store does not, and has even removed the signage for D2D as well. I did notify corporate, but no response.

The unfortunate fact is that a big business, such as WM, just doesn't care about its customers or the money we're willing to spend. If they truly did they would have fixed these issues by now and would have communicated with its customers about the current state of affairs. Instead we've been hearing the birds chirp for a very long time.

"The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug" had issues verifying. I bought it brand new from Best Buy today, its the 3 disc special version. Blu-Ray, DVD, Special Effects ect.

The UPC on the original packaging is UPC 7 94043 16891 8
There was a sticker placed over it however that is UPC 7 94043 16105 6

Would they cancel this version for verification D2D since they have now released the "Extended" versions of these movies? I watch the Blu-Ray versions whenever able, I just like having a digital copy as a backup just in case. I'm more then willing to send my $2 to whoever. Its like that guy on YouTube who was like "HBO please take my money".

Anyways, I'm still pretty impressed with the whole D2D process and most movies now coming with a code for an UV copy so please keep up the good work.

It should have come with an insert with a code to redeem the digital copy.

Yeah I was a little surprised that it didn't come with a code given that its such a recent title. It was one of the many doorbuster deals so maybe they made them specifically this way. All in all if all of these recent titles for like $5 don't come with a code I can't really complain, still a great deal.

Also, I keep forgetting about getting it done at Walmart since I've had such good luck doing this at home, ill have to go and check it out, thank you.

Update: I bought all three Hobbit movies during the online holiday weekend, I just got The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies. Both had the same packaging and disc design as The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug but the other two both came with a digital code. Maybe the guy putting the digital code insert in my movie was on break. lol I'll head to Walmart this weekend to see if I can get it into my Vudu collection (and out of my OCD collection). I'll update after I try.
