    Constant Buffering

Is anyone else having a problem with VUDU constantly buffering recently? I have a connection of 25 MBPS download and I haven't been able to watch a movie or TV show on SD without it buffering every 30 seconds. It's getting really frustrating, especially considering I have a great connection.

I had a lot of buffering in the early afternoon this past Sunday (ET), despite getting great speed test results (50+Mbps).

What device are you watching Vudu on? On my Roku 3, when the buffering starts, I know to immediately unplug and then plug it back after a few seconds and the buffering stops.

I've experienced the same issue with my Roku 3. If Vudu needs to buffer every 10-15 seconds, try unplugging, and resetting your Roku. That always seems to solve the issue for me as well.

It's the Roku 3 I believe, whichever is the current version with the motion control controller, but I've also been having this problem with my Xbox One as well.

I will try this when I have the chance and let you know how it does.

I was told by my Internet company that the main issue could be all the devices you have on in standby mode that still send and receive Internet signals. Your iPods, iPads, tablets unless turned off fully or have the wifi off will use Internet bandwidth. Same with smart TV's anything that can connect to the net and the more devices you have the more they consume of wifi. Solution is to buy a separate router and assign it a different internet connection point and make sure all your tablets are shut off or wifi is turned off when not in use. I only have 12GB speed but by assigning home theater gear to one router and tablets and iPads to another my speed jumped from under 4GB to over a steady 10GB at all times.

Sorry, but I think your ISP is blowing smoke up your...well, you know. If you have a wireless N wifi network, it operates at speeds up to 300Mbps, which is 37.5MB/s. I assume your speedtest numbers are actually Mbps, not Gbytes/second (one GB = 4096 Mbits). If my assumption is correct your max speed (12mbps) is 1.5 MB/s. You would need 10-15 devices, all trying to use the maximum available internet bandwidth to reach the capacity of the router. Also, having seperate routers would not solve this issue, as the devices would still be vieing for the same available bandwidth. The more likely cause was interference on the 2.4ghz band for the channel selected on the router. Selecting a different channel or switching to dual band 2.4/5ghz roter could make a significant difference. If each router you have is on a different channel, this explains the reduction in intererence. An even better solution is to hard-wire as many components as possible, especially the home theater setup where you want to perform HD streaming, using a Gbit ethernet connection.
Glad adding another piece of hardware helped your download speeds, but your ISP is still full of it.

What SpeedAddict said. I have about 20 devices including home theater and portable devices, going through a router that's probably going on 10 years old on a b/g wifi network (older than n), and I don't have a consistent slowdown. I see occasional buffering due to other issues, but most of the time I get very fast speeds. Unless you have a 20 year old router, that's BS.

I have a Mac, a fairly new one. I'm just trying to watch Hackers, and it buffers literally every 20-30 seconds. I want the movie to work or I want a refund. I would have purchased it in a higher resolution but your site said SD was the only thing available.
