Same is true with other titles like Iron Man, Iron Man2.

The Vudu Disc to Digital service is only for UV eligible titles only. (With very, very few exceptions.) And even then, UV D2D eligible titles are determined by the studios of said titles. Not all UV titles are D2D eligible.

Disney (and of course by proxy Lucas Film, Pixar, Muppets, Marvel Studios, etc.) are NOT part of UV yet (and don't look like they will be anytime soon) so they are not UV and not D2D eligible.

When you see these titles for purchase or rent through Vudu, you should notice that they do not have the UV logo. So these titles along with any others that are missing the UV logo may be available through Vudu, but will not be synced with your UV collection.

Yup, blame the makers! Not UV or Vudu. Disney & Itunes just want to control everything in their warped minds.

I am trying to convert "The Truman Show" and get message that it is not available. The movie is available & it does come up with UV symbol so why can't I convert my copy?

Not all UV movies are eligible for conversion. I think it is up to the studio.

Re: Why are some movies available to purchase but not to convert?

Testing here first indicates The Truman Show is not eligible for VUDU's disc to digital:

              In home: http://www.vudu.com/in_home_disc_to_digital.html
              WalMart: http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html

I checked Flixster too but it didn't show up there either.
But if it converts via CinemaNow's tool, and it's a UltraViolet title, then it should ultimately appear in your VUDU collection.

I've no idea why it would work on one service but not the other two...

Interesting, I will have to test this out soon myself.

I wonder if there are titles that were once eligible for D2D that are no longer eligible...

Has there been any history that yet, of studios pulling titles off the D2D eligibility list?

Iron Man was D2D once upon a time.
