Xbox One and Vudu 3D Movie playback support request

The Xbox One can now play blu-rays in 3D. So Vudu should enable there app to playback 3D movies.

Link works for me. It goes in depth as to why this is a limitation with Microsoft. Maybe Jake can provide a more recent update on this issue if he has any new info to share.

In many cases it's up to the hardware manufacturer to support VUDU 3D, and on many platforms they chose not to. Sony TVs are an example of that.

The PS3 and PS4 are supported as VUDU has access to the full "game" APIs, which include 3D. The Xbox One VUDU app can't support 3D unless/until Microsoft makes 3D playback APIs available to UWP video streaming apps.

man look, i called this people and they tell me that is sony fault, i call sony and they tell me is their fault....i mean...i personally think is vudu managment.

look at the android app, i purchased a 4k 3d sony tv with android apps on it, vudu app does not support 4k neither 3d , but the nvidia shield which runs android too has the app that support 4k???!!!!??? its beyond logic (after i spent more than a thousand for that tv)

without even getting lost talking about the xbox support, real quick let me say that VUDU 3d for example could have had a much better marketing, like a simple VUDU 3D logo on device that supports it would have helped millions of users, as simple as that.

You do realize that Jake is an engineer at Vudu. He just gave you the answer to your question. It might not be what you want to hear but the manufacturers do get the final word on what their devices are capable of. Just because Sony TVs cost way more then an Nvidia Shield does not mean that all Sony TVs must have the latest and greatest from Vudu. I think we all wish that if we invest a good amount of money in a device that it's capable of what developers and service providers can offer. It just doesn't work that way. Did you get a response from an actually developer/engineer from Sony about this issue or did you just get a response from a customer support representative? We are lucky that we have actual Vudu developers respond to our questions on this forum.

Re: Xbox One and Vudu 3D Movie playback support request

thank you jake to kindly reply.

is just that i heard those stuff over and over so i dont belive it anymore and im frustrated , and im sure im not the only one.

im looking on ebay for a cheap old blu ray player that supports vudu 3d which is sooooo hard, because apparently some do and some dont and the only way to find out is to research reviews thats all.

i purchased an expensive sony 3d tv, i purchased an expensive digital 3d movie and ive got the software (the app) on the tv.

So my new sony 3d tv does not support vudu 3d but my old vizio 2012 does?

And why for example amazon does give me at least 4k on this tv via their app and not vudu?
(but from my understanding they got money from nvidia shield to get the exclusive feature but eventually in a millions years they will let other android tv have it too)

and why you tube gives me 3d on this tv via app and not vudu?

so from what the vudu employee is trying to tell me is that sony agreed to have you tube in 3d but did not agree to have vudu in 3d?

and that they where able to agree with sony to put vudu 3d randomly in some old sony blu ray player but not into a brand new sony 3d tV?

there is not logic , i just cant find any logic in all of this mess.
