Re: In store disc to digital

I wasted a trip to my local store tonite only to have the process fail again.

While it may be getting fixed in some stores, it isn't getting fixed everywhere

It's been not working since late September, so it would be wonderful if it is.
I called my local store that has been unable to do D2D due to the Fuji update since late September and asked if they are back up and running. The employee who knows the system the best was out yesterday, but they said it was working again.

I'm going over there now to find out!

Hey there Cap - I know we're in the same basic area, having read through several of these threads... did it happen to be the KoP store where you had success? I've got some discs that aren't working via the in-home d2d app ("There was a problem while verifying this disc"), so I'm looking at going the Walmart route - preferably either Exton or KoP.

On that note, has anybody ever been given a 50% refund or credit after having paid full price in store rates for discs that just plain wouldn't work via the Vudu-to-go app? I've got 14 discs in my in home cart, not my fault these other 6 aren't working... Now, I'm a software engineer myself, I know sometimes things don't work, and at least there is the in-store workaround; but I would think refunding or at least crediting the $ diff would represent some good, and reasonable, customer service on Vudu's part.

I think everyone here is a software engineer. I had problems with a couple titles that I couldn't convert at home. I don't think there's a path to get a refund or credit for movies that didn't work at home. I emailed Vudu about mine that wouldn't work (I didn't go to the store, either). They asked for pictures of the case and disc. A week and a half later, the titles magically appeared in my Vudu account.

Hey, King of Prussia is where I usually go. Marsha and Monique are the two staffers that know the process best. If you go and Marsha or Monique are working, you'll have no trouble at all. They are Vudu-whizes.

I don't believe stores are capable of honoring the 50% off deal at all.

The 50% off deal is for in home conversions only.

I tried my store again last weekend, still no joy:

                  Store #1861
                  Oak Park Heights Walmart Supercenter
                  5815 Norell Ave N
                  Oak Park Heights, MN 55082
                  (651) 439-7476

I spoke again with Keith the Zone Manager, who was in the store (that's twice I've caught him). He told me store D2D no longer works, and they have now removed the advertising they had in the Photo section. As far as he knows, the program is over.

My money says that manager made a command decision.

I got the same "The program is over" nonsense in Freehold NJ. I also believe that was just "spewing" on the part of the manager.

He totally lied to you, I just did 6 discs in store today (not at that store, but it's definitely not over).

I hope everyone who is told that the program is over calls corporate to verify that. Make sure to let them know which store told you that.

Email customer service or call 1-800-WALMART (925-6278) to send a comment or ask a question about your local store or our corporate headquarters.

Looks like the end of in store d2d for me. The only walmart around that actually trained their employees on d2d got rid of their photo section and the cell phone section did not have the program. Oh well. Luckily it's a short list of movies that won't read on any d2d program (11 movies). Oh well.

11 movies too many to not have. Sorry for your loss...
