Tried 3 Walmarts - no one knows what Disc to Digital is.

The 3 Walmart stores closest to my home have no idea what Vudu, Disc to Digital or Ultraviolet are. I have several discs that I can't activate at home. The VuduToGo program tells me to take them to Walmart. Has the program been dropped, or am I just dealing with clueless Walmart employees? Do I have to know a secret password or handshake or something?

Yes, they are clueless and/or blind if they can't see the large "VUDU disc to digital" button at the bottom the screen they use to monitor photo orders. Likely if they can't see that, then probably they're less likely to know the login information or how to look it up... Try to tell them to call associate field support, and they can actually walk them through the procedure.

Your other alternative is to try at the cellular department. The option exists buried in their system as well.

I ran into the same situation, and yes - the Wireless Department took care of it for me . . .

Have you tried the other UV retailers? You may be able to convert many of them using Flixster or CinemaNow in order to get your list down.

Same problem here. 5 months ago or longer, I don't remember, I loaded up 10+ Blu-ray movies that I could not get to work with Vudu At Home Disc to Digital, hauled them down to my local Walmart to purchase the digital versions there and was told the system was broke and they didn't know if it would be fixed.

This was the first time I had ever attempted to redeem/purchase digital versions at the local Walmart store, so obviously I was not impressed.

So, I called the same local Walmart, after I took all of my Blu-rays back home, and talked to the local manager, who claimed he was unaware that the process wasn't functioning and told me it would be fixed by the following week.

Two weeks later, I called the same Walmart and they told me they were waiting on a stamp.

3 months later, I called again, and was told it still wasn't functioning.

5 months later, a couple of weeks ago, I checked again, and the person, at the electronics/photo section, really didn't seem to know what the heck I was talking about and then told me it wasn't functioning still.

I would love to just use the Vudu At Home Disc to Digital system but then you encounter these Blu-rays/DVD's that inform you that you need to take them to Walmart to purchase the digital versions and then I go to Walmart and am told it doesn't work or I ask Walmart personnel at the Electronics/Photo area who seem to be oblivious to what I am talking about. I probably have 50+ Blu-rays that I can't get to work on Vudu At Home D to D and my local Walmart doesn't have clue or doesn't care to get the system working. Disappointing to say the least.

Only (1) local Walmart in Hays, KS and no, I don't feel like driving 30 to 60 miles to some other Walmart in another town where more than likely they won't know what I am talking about either.

I have a couple of Walmarts close by and only one person in each knows how to do the D2D. I always call ahead and speak with Nancy at one of them and she will check to see if it's working for me before I go. I guess I'm lucky that there is even someone at my local Walmart that knows how to do it?

I have been to 4 different Walmarts in Durham and Hillsborough NC and was told that I have to send them off and get them back in 30 days!

Sadly, you are going to be subject to the intelligence level of the employees at the particular store you go to. Not to mention whether they actually care or not to try and help you. While that can be said about any business, it is far more pronounced with Walmart it seems.

I have 3 Walmart stores that I go to on a regular basis, each of the 3 are radically different when it comes to type of employees. One of them has a majority of employees that are so stupid that they probably can't spell their own name correctly, I doubt they could ever do a D2D.

When you find an employee at one of the stores who is on the ball and actually gives a damn, make sure to get their name and try to go back to them.

Unfortunately, that might not always work either. There's one person at a Walmart (Freehold NJ) who knows how, and has done it for me before. This week, he was not able to log into the system due to some password problem. He tried....

3 Walmarts in my area, nobody knows how to do D2D... excuses range from "we don't have the app to do that", to "you can only do that at home" to trying to sell me a $29 video to DVD conversion (NOT KIDDING!).

It would be great if a knowledgeable person here would post some simple instructions that we could take to a Walmart and show to the employees so they are able to do it? Since Walmart won't train them properly, maybe we (customers) could help?

I just did the Disc to Digital conversion for VUDU at home and did with 50 movies on blu ray and it worked like a charm. I just want iTunes to work with VUDU like Disney Movies Anywhere so all my digital copies can be in one place and I can pick and choose who to buy from, because as of right now I don't have a choice since it is like who partners with who and where can I find them.

Please all digital copies connect into one place! That would make my life so much easier!

I hate Itunes soooo much. I can't wrap my head around why anyone would use them for digital copies when UV/Vudu is so much more convenient

The only reason I still use iTunes is to get HD downloads on my iPad. Once I can get them from Vudu, I'm done with it too.
