I finally got the package in today but, instead of Backdraft on Blu-ray Walmart shipped Big Lebowski on DVD. The packing slip shows Backdraft on blu-ray however the UPC for Backdraft Blu-ray matches the UPC on Big Lebowski DVD. So now I got to deal with Walmart support and since their website is messed up no way am I going to reorder it just to deal with this mess again.
I can't get Walmart support to do anything. It's been 3 weeks for me since my initial order and I STILL don't have my movies added to my Vudu via Instawatch. They told me today they were still investigating when I called!!! I spent 20+ minutes on the phone just to get them to tell me that they are investigating!!!

Dan - Who else can I contact at Walmart / Vudu to escalate this?? This is getting ridiculous!!!!

      Re: Walmart.com and Instawatch

I'm encountering the same issue with The Spectacular Now. Blu-ray shipped on 11/3 and arrived today 11/6, but I've never received any e-mails about InstaWatch and the title isn't in my account. This is a title that I purchased on Walmart.com to test out the InstaWatch feature.

At this time, test = failed.

Dan, I am including the steps for the InstaWatch process directly from the Walmart.com website below.

Note how it says 24 hours. That is DIRECTLY off of the Walmart.com website.

I am looking into escalating this issue with the BBB if this isn't resolved.

        "How it works online"

        1. Buy Movies & Shows
Look for titles with the InstaWatch logo on Walmart.com

        2. Check email
VUDU will send you an email within 24 hours of checkout

        3. Start watching
Your InstaWatch copy is now ready to view on your favorite device.

Ok - am giving this a try. Registered at Walmart.com per instructions and ordered a couple blu-rays. Waiting for email from VUDU but is early. Not sure if I ordered eligible movies - I followed the link to begin shopping for Insta-Watch titles but saw nothing on individual titles to show whether or not they were actually eligible.

How can you tell if a title is eligible or not?

Worked fine! Overnight I received email from Walmart telling me that my movies were ready to redeem, with a link to sign into my VUDU account and link my Walmart and VUDU accounts. Once done the movies were in my VUDU account. I will be back!

I received an e-mail last night with an Instawatch redemption for 3 movies including The Spectacular Now. All 3 were blu-rays that I ordered from Walmart.com. Two out of three redeemed as HDX, but Spectacular Now redeemed only as SD. I do not like any SD movies in my account really.

So, what was a grade of F might have moved to a C- at the moment. It's hard to understand why digital copies have so much trouble with SD/HD. It doesn't seem random, as there seem to be many more cases of wrongly granted SD from blu-ray than HD or HDX from DVD.

                  Re: Walmart.com and Instawatch

I am still struggling with trying to figure out what is an Insta-Watch title and what is not. I am scrolling through the 25 pages of titles at the link to Insta-Watch but see no Insta-Watch labels on any title and some titles that cannot be right. For example, am looking at Blu-Ray listing for The African Queen, which is not UV and can only be accessed on VUDU by rental. There has to be an easier way to shop for Inst-Watch-eligible titles.

OK I bit, I have ordered "African Queen" from Insta-Watch on line, to pick up in store. I have wanted this title in my Library since 2011, so guinea pig I am for this little endeavor. Frankly I would give my left foot to have this in my Library.

I am going post the outcome of having ordered this as Insta-Watch, it is neither UV nor available, as you pointed out above, for sale in the VUDU system. I have taken screen shots of the title under the Insta-Watch for sale headings, have my receipt, and other data screen on screen shots. So.....the test begins, twilight music key up

*****(edit) YES and WHOOHOO it worked!!!!! They sent the e-mail immediately. The title redeemed through Walmart's portal to my VUDU account. It is now resident in my VUDU library, HDX I might add. Sunday morning happy dance (way to much espresso this morning)

So, this test was positive, I get to pick up the actual Blu-Ray title at my Walmart store in a few days or less.

It is OK that this gives me the 2nd Blu-Ray for this title, I will give the old one to the next door neighbors and keep the new Blu-Ray from this order.

So at least on the issues noted above, not available UV or for sale in VUDU, Insta-Watch still allows redemption of the title to add to your VUDU account. Oh I have wanted this for soooooooo long. THANK YOU Walmart & VUDU (yeah I know a little over the top, but I am so tickled at this point in time).

Wow! No way I thought that African Queen would be available. Guess I should finish that first cup of coffee before I post. Am heading to order now - will believe it when it is in my account!

Wait - A second e-mail will show up with the following "stuff" ....

"You have digital movies ready to watch

When you purchase eligible DVDs or Blu-ray discs at Walmart, you'll get a digital copy to own and watch instantly on Walmart's digital entertainment service VUDU.

                          Your Eligible DVDs/Blu-rays:

                          Photo of the title ordered.

Just sign in with your Walmart.com account to redeem your digital movies.

                          Redeem Now" BUTTON

At that point sign into your Walmart account, using the same e-mail addressing that associates with your VUDU account, that is PARAMOUNT. Your VUDU & Walmart "VUDU"/account, must have the same e-mail addressing globally and be linked. Then redeem.....pretty simple, but I suspect for some, not so simple. They would have been better served to map directly to your VUDU account by requesting your e-mail address at order time to your VUDU account. But that is another subject altogether. Their mapping for this process is difficult and a bit cumbersome.

My redemptions have come from Vudu by Walmart [email (at) email (dot) vudu (dot) com].

                              rdodolak - Thank You.

For this test, and since this was the first time that I did the Insta-Watch program, I followed the "destructions" to the tee. Now that I know that I can use my VUDU sign in directly, will be doing that going forward.

Thank you for the tip, very much.

I was extremely skeptical that it would work on a title that was not UV, nor available for purchase in the VUDU system, as such was a little "compulsive" about the redemption process. I did kind of think that I could use the direct VUDU log in to redeem, but was not that adventuresome. Coward at this end LOL

I have no second email and signing into my VUDU account did nothing. I will just wait awhile and see if it shows. For now I have a screen capture of the title within the Instawatch list.
