    VUDU on Fire TV

Any word on VUDU being available on Fire TV?

I'm assuming this may not happen; Amazon probably sees VUDU as a direct competitor to their digital sales.

Would love to get an answer to this as well. When Amazon launched the Fire TV, they really touted it as being an "open platform." That being the case, I would have assumed they would let anybody on it. Flixtster is on it, and there is no significant difference between that at Vudu really. I can only assume that Vudu is choosing not to support Amazon's platform.

Can someone from Vudu confirm? Would be nice to know either way.

Pretty sure it's actually that Vudu hasn't build an Android TV app, only a regular Android app intended mainly for phones and tablets.

An Android TV app could be used on FireTV, Nexus Player (console), Shield TV, Razer, etc.

I wouldn't hold your breath, it's not going to happen. Amazon would never allow their app on their exclusive devices, they are competitors after all right?

I would love to see it too, not only for Fire TV, but for Kindles too. But I agree I don't ever seeing it happening.

I don't believe Amazon would block it if Vudu wanted to make an App. They allow the Flixster app.

Disney, Hulu, Flixster, Starz, HBO, Showtime, YouTube, Netflix, and a host of others.

Given the list, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Vudu app.

Not one of those apps sells or rents movies and tv shows. But Vudu and amazon do, that's where they're direct competitors.

Disney, HBO and YouTube all sell movies. Allowing companies to do transactions is always tricky. Apple still doesn't allow it either.

It could be a competition exclusion, not enough info out their to know for sure.
Netflix and Amazon Prime are competitors, but Netflix has too big a market share to exclude from the Fire TV.
You can buy and rent from Flixster on their website, but not really a big player.

If it is a purchase thing, just make the Vudu app play only like on iOs.

Edit: Amazon just banned the sale of Apple TV's and chromecasts, maybe it is a competition thing.

Disney does not actually sell digital movies, they send you to a participating provider, which includes Amazon, to buy.

It might just take a while. I gave up on Flixster has the quality was only SD, gated the interface, and LOAD time. Let it go and it should eventually come up. Mine took forever.

I also have the same dislikes / problems with CinemaNow except that it DOES play in HD.
