Mr. Robot Season 1 is CENSORED!!!? Why? This is not how it is on TV...

I bought Mr. Robot Season 1 and it's censored.... It is not labelled as a clean or censored version... The original is not censored...

Can someone clarify if and when this will be changed?

It is ruining my viewing experience and making me regret buying this....

All of them so far... I've watched 6 out of 10, but I would be surprised if the last four weren't the same.

The f word among others are censored out.... Here is a recording from the first episode where the f word is not censored... Why would it be censored on vudu?

This is bad news. I was thinking of picking this up seeing as I'd heard good things, but I will wait until it's uncensored.

The studio has decided to give us the TV-14 version of the show. That's how we have it advertised on our service, therefore we cannot change it to the uncensored version.

...but is there a plan in motion or a plan at all to get a TV-MA version of the show? because if not then VUDU will be the only service in the market that doesn't have the uncensored version.. for some reason...

You can't change the censored version since that how it was advertised, but you COULD add the uncensored version as an alternate choice to those who want it as a totally separate item (sort of how you sell the theatrical cut of a movie like Hot Tub Time Machine, but then also sell the Unrated cut)

The studio had originally provided all digital providers with the TV-14 version but then recently offered the TV-MA version in it's place. We are working to come up with a solution to this dilemma. Stay tuned...

It does seem logical if the studio created both, they anticipate demand. I agree offering both seems reasonable.

Personally, I can't imagine buying this show as TV-14, but I can see other shows where it would make sense to have a family-friendly version.

I'd suggest parental controls could be used to determine the version that plays, and not a separate license, but obviously that's up to the studio.

Add me to the list of people that want the TV-MA version. I purchased this a few weeks ago, unaware that it was censored. I hope Vudu can get this fixed.

FelipeF - Fantastic! Hope it gets sorted soon.

I was the same as you tbdave, completely unaware that I needed to check if it was TV-MA or not... or that TV-14 meant no swearing considering the level of drug use, violence and sex in the series...

This is a good reminder to check the metadata when you make a purchase. I know I probably would not have checked, and I would have felt cheated to get the censored version. I will also try to check the audio encoding from now on, just in case.

Even if I checked the metadata, I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong. I wasn't aware that there were two different versions.

The uncut version airs on TV and the censored version airs on Vudu. Does that make any sense?

True, the metadata doesn't really tell the full story... for instance "Fear the walking dead" is TV-14 and "Breaking Bad" was TV-14, I think even the first few seasons of "The waking dead" were TV-14.
